Saw. Enjoyed it, didn't love it. Without getting into too much and spoiling it for others, just found the story (what little there was) went by the wayside too fast to make way for the special effects that I found too chaotic and wasn't able to clearly get a clear view of the transforming.

I mean, he's a way cool Camaro! I don't think the VW Bug would have gone over as well as coolness in this movie!!

I saw Transformers last night.
That was a really fun movie! I would see it again in the theatre. - Donald P.S. Never watched the cartoons as a kid (or adult), so I didn't know the lore.

Optimus Prime is the coolest thing I've ever seen in 65 years. Truck/Bot/Warrior...just perfection. The Police car Barracade and the Chopper also were in there. Bumble needed to be that Camaro. (Both of them)
And in case y'all got up before the titles...Starscream transforms in a Starship and heads out to the great unknown...till next time... ILM is beyond belief in what they can do with digital.

I truly loved this movie and saw it twice. I loved it and cant wait for part two. OH THERE WILL BE A PART 2. But I'm about to start a thread on the very mysterious trailer before the movie right now its being called 1-18-08 or the Cloverfield Movie. If your not aware of what I am talking about its the trailer that is entirely in a hand held camera and starts off at a going away party and ends with the Statue of liberties head on the middle of the street.

I just saw it and thought it was a fine piece of robot on robot face punching action.
One small question though...if the Deceptacons came to Earth to 'transform' our technology into an army, why did Megatron come here one hundred years ago when we didn't have any technology to transform? |

They didn't come here to transform OUR technology...(and of course we had technology 100 hundred years ago) Humans were just "Disgusting" worms to them. They came for the 'All Spark' which could ultimately restore 'life' to their home planet...but Megatron got frozen in the ice looking for it blah blah blah.
The All Spark's simple proximity injects LIFE into any object...which is why the steering wheel attacked the girl in her own vehicle. Every Bot (in this film universe) contains a bit of the All Spark, thus they can pick and choose what they can become 'to hide in plain sight'.
