I did a show the other night and was told to shorten my act because they were running long and had to be out by 9:15. I said, “No problem.” (Hey, I work less and get same money, fine with me)

One of the routines I dropped used a 15 ft streamer loaded in a Palmo. I have a show next week. Can I leave the Palmo loaded or should I pull it out to let the silk "relax"?

I guess I have the same question for hank balls and fountains. How far in advance can you load them and still have them look good?

Thanks,
Bruce,

I would not leave a Palmo or hank ball loaded that long. With those compressed wrinkles your 15-foot streamer may look a lot shorter. A silk fountain loaded overnight will give you a slower bloom but I don't know how it will work a week later.

I did a show the other night in a banquet room that was not air-conditioned and had trouble with wrinkles from silks in a Palmo after just an hour. (It was hot and had just rained so it was humid.)

I agree with Chris. Given a choice, I try to keep silks flat until I need them. They seem to pick up the light so much better.

Let it relax!!!! I wait as long as possible to load silks if the are compressed. I usually hate wrinkles, but recently I have not been ironing some of my silks. That was tough for me to do at first, but due to the nature of this routine I am doing, it had to be that way.

Unload it. Even my silk fountain, which (when possible) I fold two or three days ahead, are never left folded that long.
