Going to Disneyworld in June. Kinda bummed that Orlando doesn't allow busking so there's little or no chance of me seeing anybody working there.
Is The Mighty Fool still working the Fulton Crab Shack? (The riverboat in WDW.) I'm also bummed by my continued inability to schedule practice/rehersal/performance time. But that's another topic for another rant!

I was just there two weeks ago and had a great time. Now I did see a magician working the streets of MGM Studios. I only got to see him for a second as everyone else in my family had more important things to do than allow me moment to enjoy his show. I did see about thirty seconds or so of his ambitions card. I guess that’s something.
There are street performers at all the parks, sadly not many magicians. (However, fun to watch none the less.) On our last day there we discovered that the Westgate Resorts has an illusion show (the Magical Show Tiger Adventure). Tickets are $20.00 for adults and $14.00 for children. (407) 239-0510 ext. 41721. If you see this show you can tell me if I miss a good show are not. One other possibility might be Old Town. They advertise live entertainment at night and there is a magic shop there (A very very week magic shop). Have fun, Tony

"DIsneyWorLd" seems like the last place I'd go to see magic.
go the keys where busking is "LEGAL"

The last time I was at WDW I saw street magicians at both Downtown Disney near the Planet Hollywood/Pleasure Island area and at The Disney Boardwalk near The ESPN Zone.
These were Disney sanctioned and pretty good...both in the evening. Cheers, Cunningham |

Yeah, MGM Studios has Terry Ward ( I think that is his name ), who does a nice
street act and sometimes dresses up like a magician. I saw him last year, and loved his show. I caught the end of his shell game and his ACANN, which he ended with. I asked the park if they had a schedule for him but it turned out that he performs when and if he wants to. So if you can't get off the parks I would look around there. He is usually near the entrance in ???main street??? Right before the street that leads to Tower of Terrors. Another set of guys do a show there where they drive around in the ole time truck. They are like street workers or something, but its a funny show. But no magic there just comedy. Just some ideas.

Y'know, I never really stopped to watch the street performers in MGM. Usually the kids want to <go> somewhere and it just doesn't happen. (The joys of autisim, he's almost 21 years old, but still 9 emotionally!)

If you don't go to the Keys, you are crazy!
The one and only Gazzo is there. His show is worth the drive!
I am truly blessed to have a job where people are laughing all the time and everyone believes in magic....Come to think of it, I'm blessed to even have a job.

You're probably right. I'd (almost) give a kidney to actually watch Gazzo work. But no, it isn't going to happen this year!

Before you allow yourself to wakeup in a tub of ice . You might want to drop Gazzo a line because I think he is in Vegas now.

I went down to Florida a year ago, and while I was there I managed to stop by WonderWorks on International Drive and saw the Outta Control Magic Show. The guys who do the show are members here at the Café, and myself and my family had a great time. Good magic and fantastic comedy. If you get the chance, check it out. Unlimited pizza, soda and beer too!

Now <that> sounds like a possibility. Course, in '05 we didn't even get off the park.

Mandrake...
Here's what's currently going on at Disney... Terry is around at MGM from what I hear. There are performers regularly at Disney's Boardwalk from 7pm - 10pm. There are 3 different spots there, also one strolling music act. Disney also has performers at the Marketplace at Downtown Disney in the evenings. Usually in front of marketplace guest relations & next to Giradelli) And one other Disney performer I've heard of though haven't seen yet (and dang I can't recall his name) - but he's usually at Rose & Crown Pub at EPCOT on Friday evenings (maybe more often?) He's a member here. If you searched for DISNEY you'd probably find him. Also up the street on I-Drive as mentioned earlier is Tony Brent's show at Wonderworks. Check it out here. And FYI - if you go - buy advanced tickets. The show has been selling out almost every night as I understand. Beyond that - there are really terrific street shows at MGM not invloving magic necessarily. The Public Works guys are always a good laugh. They're usually on the corner of Hollywood & Vine. have fun mate! When are you coming down in June? -Robert

Thanks! Somewhere around the 23rd. We were there in August of '05. The only "performers" we managed to catch were "Off Kilter," a Scottish rock band that plays in the Canadian pavilion. I'm going to print out your list and try to catch some of these people. Of course, we'll see how that works with the kid grumbling that we're missing a ride or missing a parade for this!

Mandrake,
Have fun down there. I'm back in Albuquerque the 26- July 3 so I likely won't be around when you are. But man, have some fun. The acts at Boardwalk are always fun to watch. -Robert
