What a shame Mr Riser is not making cups. I have enjoyed in the past perusing his fine website to see the pictures of the different cups he makes. What an artform they are. But I think these cups will live on forever. Cups will last many lifetimes of use I am sure and these cups will be appearing on ebay and in the magical auctions sought after by interested people for years to come.

He's making cups. They will just be different cups, apparently. And I don't see where it says he won't be making the standard cups.
I've never seen the perfect cup. I'm hoping to soon, tho.

I have several perfect cups. These are the ones that I use to entertain with. Some from you, Jake, some from Riser and Danny Dew.

I should have been more clear. My statement only has to do with the Jumbo cups that I have owned. Meaning baseball sized cups or bigger.

Back to the original question. The Golden Age of Cups ended yesterday afternoon at 3:45 PM CDT.
We are now in the Golden Age of Saucers.

Things are in the works. Remember, Rome was not built in a day. It just looks like it.

It's sad that manufacturers really could care less about how their products actually work. The magic makers "golden shells" is probably a perfect example of crap that is put out only for how it looks in the box. The underside is a complete joke. They were designed specifically to "look like" whit's gold shells from above without any of the features below. ON PURPOSE. But the features ARE the thing that make the trick work. I'm wondering who these people are that have the guts to basically decide... "i want it to look like that but I don't care if it works or not. I don't care if my customers are happy. hopefully they just won't ever learn the difference. I just want the money". Then to make matters worse, you have shops like genpuin that put products like that right on their homepage and sending newsletters out promoting them as "wonderful". To do my little part, I just don't do business with places that knowingly promote crap as "wonderful".

The idea of the "look" as being important has always been with us. It's one of the reasons that I point out when things are done to deliberately confuse the issue about various items.
We all know that the title of one well-known recent release in the DVD category was apparently chosen so that it would be similar to Michael Ammar's Complete Cups and Balls. How about this one? If you call a magic shop and ask for "PsychoKinesis with Silverware" do you think you will get the DVD by Banachek? No, you won't. His DVD is called "PsychoKinetic Silverware." His came out first. The other is the one with the similar title. Why choose a similar title? Is it to confuse noobs and their parents? I can't think of any other reason.

I agree Bill. I've not heard of that DVD but that is a standard ploy. Works especially well with Google searching, etc., these days.
But it's a much bigger issue when they purpously make an unusable or very inferior product ON PURPOSE and basically hope for accidential or uninformed sales.
