I'm glad you liked my routine Brett. I hope not too many people try to emulate what I do exactly though. I know that it is the most sincere form of flattery, but...
Wait...I'm not Todd.
Sorry-Just had an overwhelming urge to be Todd Robbins after watching that.
Who could blame me?
That was brilliant.

Loved it, just loved it. Brilliant.
Most performances are boring and mondane. Your was the best I have seen.
Maybe I should learn this...but I will wait to take either your class or harleys.

Funny you should mention ol' Mr. Punch.

I might be mounting a P & J show to do in our Coney Island Museum. If I can find the time, I will work up the thing and do it there on some Saturday afternoons this Summer. I have the puppets and the fit up, all I need is the time to do it right. The routine I have written up is based on the show Al Flosso did out in Coney Island in 1915. That's the starting point. And there is a lot of Jay Marshall, and even a bit of Percy Press thrown in for good measure. I figure "that's the way to do it".

Well once again ignorance strikes.

Some guy saw a topic on blockhead at another forum, and made this comment:

"This trick sucks...it's not enjoyable to watch at all. There is no way anybody can enjoy watching that."

Todd, I was wondering if I could post your video in the topic, to show that it can be entertaing? Or should I just let him lay.

I wonder if this person meant that he doesn't understand how someone can stand to watch a perfomer blockhead something (e.g., one of my friends loves my routine, but she can't watch anything go into my nose), or if thinks it's impossible to make the stunt entertaining.

My response to the guy would be:

"Thank you for this information. I had no idea that people don't want to see it. I wish you had told this to Melvin Burkhart. If Melvin had known that, he wouldn't have created the routine 1929 and wasted 70 years of his life performing the act live in front of hundreds of thousands of people.

Now that I know that no one enjoys the act, I will stop doing it and start writing notes of apology to the producers of the more than one hundred TV shows upon which I have done that act. I will send these same notes to the millions of people that have seen me do the act on all those shows. This is going to take some time, but I will sleep well at night knowing that making atonement for my sins.

Boy, do I feel better now that I know the truth.

Oh, just one quick question. Who are you?"

A forum called Penguin Magic. Some kid asked about learning this "trick", as they called it. After a few posts, another guy posted the commment I quoted and posted here.

Hope that makes sense.

Nice seeing ya Todd, how do you do that... well I know but do you need to be born with the ability or is it something that anyone can do, but doesn't want to?
If you need to be born with it, what can I do to figure out that I can do it?

I do believe if you want to learn, you can take his class that he offers. I believe he covers block-head, glasss walking, and many other related stunts.
