Yup, almost anyone can learn the skill. Once the skill has been mastered, then begins the hard work of making the act mean something.

Todd I think you hit the nail on the head ....... (I spent an hour thinking up that pun! - and now I have a headache! – perhaps I could use block head to get rid of the pain) …….. sorry I digress …….

I think (well know) you are right about making the act mean something. The performance is everything! (well 99% in my humble estimation) I have seen block head before – but I don recall the name of performer or anything about the show except that he did blockhead. IN short I was not entertained. But watching your, what seemed brief stint on you tube, I was thoroughly entertained. It was / is great. It feels like one has been watching for only a few moments but turns out to be nearly 5 minutes. That to me is great because it tells me I was engrossed and lost track of time.

I aim to be as good as you pros on here one day (even as a part time performer who doe not do very much other than charity gigs every now and then).

Todd Robbins Sideshow School....the best money you will EVER spend. And...if you've purloined said money from spouse or significant other....it makes the experience even more meaningful...

I plan on taking it some time in the next few years and as soon as I save up for everything. I also plan on taking Harleys. Learn as much as possible.
Great investment.

Where did harely get Kazoo from?

From Dougs post of "wazoo", which I believe means butt.
I might be wrong. Funny how this forum turns like that. Smile

Why oh why would you want alcohol in the equation?

It is no good as a lubricant - it evaportates far too quickly. You need something much more "clingy" that does not evaporate but keeps things slippy.

Have I lowered the tone far too much? OR did I just completely miss the point of the alochol. Smile

Ken tell them about the "side show whistle"..... I am sure it is along the same lines as Kazoo up the arse - only a little less orical.

I take a lot of pain meds (prescription not recreational) and I miss out on the drunken phase and go straight to unconscious. I guess at that point I would not know what was done with the Kazoo ………. Just as long as they don’t leave it next to my face and I play it when I come round! Smile Smile

"Why do I need to know about it and understand it to decide whether it sucks or not to spectators? I'm a spectator, I saw it.

Again, this trick is boring, predictable, and goes nowhere. I saw it performed to a huge crowd at the BuskerFestival here and the general consensus was that it was not amazing, at all.

Just because you devoted some time and effort into learning a trick that sucks doesn't mean you should take offense when someone exposes how much it sucks"

^^^Well the poster, again posts this remark about how sucky block head is.^^^

There aren't many, who make it interesting.

Most I've seen, do a crappy imitation of Melvin's act. Todd is the exception.

But then, Todd is always exceptional!

Sorry, bout that. It was very out of character for me to write something like that.

Those of you belonging to the Yahoo DG will know what that's about.

Nips,
