Hi, I would really love to hear from anyone who knows if this book is any good or not.

They say it has contributions from greats like Jennings, Skinner and Bill Malone. Of course not forgetting Jim Swain.

I'm surprised this book has never been mentioned here b4.

Thanks!
Maxim.

Yeah the videos you are talking about (Miracles With Cards) are great. They contain some of his things from both "Dont Blink" and "Miracles with Cards" (both Books). As for 21st Century Card Magic, I liked it alot. I felt that the other 2 books (Dont Blink and Miracles with Cards) were better though. A few of the highlights for me in 21st were Icebreaker, Shipwrecked and Paul Cummins' Count on It. All very good effects.

I think Jim Swain has one of the best handlings of the Si Stebbins in this book. It is really clever and it is powerful.

He does the pass very well.

21st Century Card Magic HAS been mentioned here before. It simply is one of the best books out there for intermediate card guys. I always find myself going back to it so I can master the tricks I couldn't handle 2 years ago. It is among the top 3 books I own, out of about 25.
So if you're thinking about getting it, you will love it. Do a search on this forum and you will find more comments about this book

All three of Jim's books should be in the library of anyone with a passion for card magic.

I got the book. Nice handlings of other people's work along with some originals of his own. Like Bannon, good intermediate material if not as original as Bannon. He's definitely 'in' among magic's cognoscenti. But apparently his true forte is fiction. He's got some good best sellers apparently.

I was introduced to the magic of Jim Swain through a free promo offer from L&L publishing a few years back. It was a free DVD which appears to be a selection from his DVD set and I thought it was great! I looked into his books on card magic, but they were out of print. Good news today because L&L Epub is having a 60% off sale that includes all 3 of the Swain books...limited time only so I'll pick up all three. As far as the fiction writing of James Swain, I have read Midnight Rambler, The Night Monster, and The Night Stalker (all feature the main character Jack Carpenter...) and one of the Tony Valentine series. If you like fast paced mystery page-turners with lots of twists you can't go wrong, I liked all of them and look forward to more (especially with Jack Carpenter I'm "All In").

Swain's books are available from used magic book dealers like Andy Greget and Byron Walker. Sellers will periodically post them on the big auction site. I picked up a copy of Don't Blink from the big site last month. If you love card magic then Swain's books need to be in your library without hesitation. His Multiple Shift from his Miracles With Cards book is killer!
