This just looks too big for me. I think the super sharpie is it, finish clean. I have done some effects and if I get burned up, they would see that. Funny story about the astronauts in the us. The pen cost like 200000 dollars to develop and practice time in space etc because conventional pens would lock up and they couldn't document things they needed to. The funny part was that the cosmonauts or Russians had the same issues with conventional pens so they started using pencils. HAHAHa True story.

Tht is a good story, Donkeys, and I, too, heard it is true. If NOT, it certainly SHOULD be as it makes sense!
The SCRIBE is a multi-tool type of gimmick, and those ordering it know EXACTLY what they are getting so they must, as I do, have some uses for it. I have sold many and am thankful it has found use with them. It certainly excells at pocket writing, and also offers the option of "in the open" applications as well. Not every routine or gimmick is for everyone and that is a GOOD thing! Thanks for the story, Bryn

Has anyone else had difficulty getting the Zip pen (or Scribe) to begin writing on index card stock? With the package I got, I would PW something, and it would come up blank; this happened with both pens in the package. I found that I had to always do some scribbles first to get the ink running smoothly on the cards, which is why I stopped using them. Did I just get a bad batch? I assumed that the Fischer cartridge was always ready to write, anytime, anywhere... is that true?
Seth p.s. I got these from Office Max, not Bryn. I'm sure his always work! |

Hi Seth.
I have seen a few that right-out-of-the package will need a scribble or two to start, but that is rare. The nub of the SCRIBE becomes covered in the latex during the application process, of course, but a quick line gets rid of that and it always writes well. Most of the time they start writing right away. I use mine often (if even for just taking a quick note, etc., without performing an effect) but there have been occasions it has sat for several days and still wrote perfectly. I certainly would try a test "scribble" with yours, though, before performing an effect for a real spectator. Perhaps you did get some bad ink.... Bryn

Thanks, Bryn. I kinda figured I got an unusual batch or something, 'cause my Zip pens gave me nothing but trouble. Good to know that isn't normally the case. Perhaps a good use of your flesh-colored Scribe would be to pretend to write something with a normal pen, but instead secretly use the Scribe to put some test scribbles down...
Anyway, thanks again! Seth |

Seth: I have been thinking about a possible work-around with your stcok Zip...
When I make the SCRIBEs, after the latex application process, I have to ensure that the back opening is not clogged with the tan latex. I usually use a pin. It will inhibit the ink flow if it is blocked, as will any pen if it does not get enough air. Make sure that no pocket lint or "crumbs" have gotten into that hole. If so, just blow them out or use a straight pin. As other above have said, they have had NO problems with this Fischer Space Cartridge or the SCRIBE at ALL. At least worth checking out... Bryn
