Hey everyone, I was just wondering how each of you open your show!
don't get me wrong though, I do not mean what your opener is. I am referring to what you say/do when you come up on stage or behind the bar or whatever your venue might be.
thanks

That is the approach, fill in your own laugh.

Here you go - Ya can't use this for all audiences.

Walk out on stage...look at everyone without saying anything for a few seconds
then say
"Hi"
(audience says hi)
I'm Matt...and I am an alcoholi--uh, magician..rather...sorry, wrong meeting.

Or do this - walk out, say nothing, but smile. Do a flash string to silk (PM me if you've any questions) Let them react (they'll love it). Sometimes, I have to raise my eyebrows expectantly and slightly bow to give them an auplause cue - after they applaud - I've said either
"I'm sorry you had to see that" OR

"you guys don't get out much" (as if they'd applaud at anything) OR

"ladies and gentlemen...and all the rest....the red handkerchef trick.................I came up with that title by myself

Just some things I've done and said in front of an audience

Danny, don't get me wrong. I am not trying to use your material in my show. I have my own. I was just curious about what others use.
