Anyone got the work on ripping an apple in half? Its an old stunt and id love to learn it.

Huh, I have seen this done before.

I myself can rip phone books, and cards, newpapers.
Yet I havent tried ripping an apple. I will have to try that.
I will get back to on it.. If some one doesn't help you first. lol

If I remember, it looked like it was ripped in a turning fashion, like opening an oreo.

Going grocery shopping tomorrow as well. Yay.

You could stitch through the outsides with a thread and pull it through.. Like the old "banana sliced through the peel" trick. Then just bust it open as you "rip it".

Try just grabbing the apple with both hands and twisting. It's hard but works. Possibly some kinds of apples are easier. I've been able to do this sometimes but not always. Good luck

My dad taught me that one when I was a kid. He would do it all the time. It's best done with red delicious, it's firm enough to not yield to the extreme pressure applied. Avoid Macintosh and other softer fleshed apples. This can be done with pears too.

That makes sense, a larger surface area and the harder something is, the more fragile it becomes.
