I have a Peavy solo amp that would work great for the street. Is there anyt sort of battery operated wireless mic for this setup?
What do most of you folks use for sound in the street? Do you always find a location with power? Thanks John Cesta |

I saw you were mainly referring to wireless head set and power for amp, but I figured I'd mention what I use ..I use an apollo amp that straps around my waist and has a cord headset . It's operated off of double A's and lasts for hours. I just got done doing 4 hours on the street and my batteries are still good. I wear my pouch in front and swing the amp around behind me..so when I'm backed against a wall the sound bounces off the back wall and does pretty good. 100-200 people can hear fine. The street I was working, folks could hear me up and down the street (I could see them standing up and down the street stopping and watching (cause they could hear me). Seems to work real good for sidewalk shows. Here's the link: http://www.camcor.com/cgi-bin/cat/id=986317048

PM me and I'll tell you how to hook your receiver up to the amp that ya have. No sense in spending more money on somethin else.
PS I use a Crate, Taxi series.

Dennis Michael did a good job of analyzing this topic here:

I use a Mipro 101. It has the receiever built in. The transmitter is the size of a bpack of cards. Comes with a little clip on mike or a bigger one. If I was getting the same thing today, they now have an improved 101 that uses FM frequencies.

I use an amplivox portable buddy. It has been a workhorse for me for 5 years (hard street use) and the customer service just could not be better.
http://www.ampli.com/s222.htm Call Merle (she's the customer service rep that I've worked with for years) at 1800 AMPLIVO PS I am looking for a countryman mike to plug into this. Anyone have a used one? |

I just got the Paso Procast 50 and it works great. You can either run of the internal battery or standard AC, and it's only about eleven pounds. Gets good sound, too!
