I have seen two performances on this and after my computer crashed, I lost it. I was going to see about finding where to get it. Basically they show the magician and he walks up to the fishtank after disappearing a signed card, tank is well lit and with fish inside and he reaches in THROUGH the tank and pulls a card out of the tank. Arm is wet and card is signed. Very strong looking stuff.
It has been a while since I have seen in but it was very good looking to me. I believe both performances were done by japanese magicians. Anyone seen this ? Can you direct me to the performance and or the site to purchase this effect ? Thanks

I agree with everyone. Cyril is the best magician out there. There is another version you can find on youtube where he puts his hand the the bottom of a glass bottomed boat. Same thing as the fish tank, just thru the freakin bottome of a glass bottomed boat! Then there is the one with the salt shaker thru the glass table. If you haven't seen this, even if you have, you'll want to check it out. Just search for Cyril, salt shaker. This is another one of those impossible illusions that looks like real magic. In fact I think it may be real magic! It's that good.
Marc PS. Criss Angel better step it up if he wants to be on the same level as Cyril. I like Angel's magic but I love Cyrils! |

I have a question, probably better served to be in Food for Thought, but I'll post it here. Criss Angel is criticized when he gaffs a park bench or a fence. How is this any different than what Cyril does when he puts a gaffed table or a gaffed aquarium into a public place?
Either chastize them both or chastize neither one. You can't have it both ways.

I have a version of this. Tank is not gimmicked in any way. $500. Comes with band-aids and a big supply of paper towels.

I think as long as they can make tricks looks like real magic, then it is a good tricks. Doesn't matter impromptu or gimmicked.
You know, my wife (layman)'s first impression is that the tank is actually a 360 deg TV. That seems too simple, but yet does explain everything. I sometimes amazed how direct layman would think |

Owl, that is a wild thought. I never thought of that. It would explain most of it but the fish swimming throughout the tank, it wouldnt match up, I mean the swimming pattern of the fish. The side shot shows and it looks like what a tank sideview looks like but again if it were a hi def television, they could have filmed it and inserted it into the "side" of the tank. It couldn't be that could it ? This trick would be the stooge champion if indeed it was that. I keep watching it and it just looks like real magic.

Hi donkeys
No, I don't think that's the solution for the trick. It won't be able to show the same 3D view in 360 deg. I just wanted to shows that sometimes layman thinks very difft but more direct than us. We sometimes complicated things. |

Yeah, I agree that sometimes we do overdo it in our thinking. DL's are one for sure. I have been doing cards for a long time and never thought about my DL until a fellow magician mentioned it. I started paying attention to it and tried different methods. I have never had any problems or suspicions about my DL )from laymen) but boy I was concerned about it after it was mentioned by another magician. I still do it the way I did and still have no issues.
Anyone have any idea how in the #ell this is accomplished ? Pm me if you don't want to expose on open forum. It is driving me crazy.

1 stooge.1 magician. Lots of legits(my coining of a term for real spectators) can really sell a trick to the camera. Just focus on the legits reactions while filming
