Find a copy of "Juggling, the Art and its Artists", by Karl-Heinz Ziethen or "4000 Years of Juggling", Volume I & II, also by Karl-Heinz. They are probably the most definitive works on the history of the art of juggling.

Go to this site, click on "British Pathe", then do a search on vaudeville or juggling, and you will get a virtual treasure trove of archival vaudeville juggling acts. It is an incredible resource. Enjoy it. It's a dandy.

Welcome to the magic Café. Are you Alfredo, or Aldenta? You know my real name is Alfonso. I remember seeing you two do that great devil stick routine to an opera song at a juggling convention years ago. Up untill now I was the resident pro, so I guess with you, and Mike here we will have several experts.

I'm Alfredo, Mike aka Seasideshowman is Alfresco and my first partner, Sean Sullivan was Aldente. We actually, very briefly, had an Alphonso (Jonathan Perry). Heck, you could be a distant cousin, for all we know. Now, I'm not sure whiich routine you are referring to. I do a devil stick/tennis raquet routine, and we also do a big plate spinning routine to "Flight of the Valkeries"... maybe you have juxtaposed them in your memory as being the same routine? Not sure. Anyway, thanks for the welcome. Happy to be a part of the group.
The newest Al to the group,
Alfredo

Yes, That'd be him. He had a brief, but illustrious run as a Fettucini Brother. Good fellow, that one.

There's a video on the great Bobby May around - I got a copy from Dube, I think, years ago.

I believe that Dube has the exclusive rights to the Bobby May video.

I met a woman at a festival several years ago who told me she was Bobby May's assistant on his USO tours during WW II, and she said he was at his best in the middle of a room full of soldiers with three balls, Bobby just loved work the croud.
