Any comments?

Keeping in mind that JT's image is repeated more than 16,000 times on this forum, I think it's worthy of discussion.

The new facial hair is fine, but the previous portrait was more flattering.

Growing Old Sucks.

I got so used to the old one, it seems like a completely different personality now.

I was like, "Who's this new guy? He talks like Jonathan Townsend." no kidding.

Like a flower in the field, he is Unique, individual and one of a kind. At least he is 100% natural and I have much respect for that!

His pic looks like he is trying to break through the 2nd dimension and get into my head! Must.....resist.....can't.....let.....it........aaaaaaahahahahahahah!

Is that what they mean by "breaking the fourth wall"?

I've been trying to be nice and not say anything, but since you asked...

Jonathan has the same problem so many of us do: he's just plain ugly. New avatar, old avatar, it just doesn't make much difference. The ugly comes through loud and clear.

Why do you think I go with the 'chin whiskers and hat' look? To cover up the ugly. And still I have to heavily Photoshop my avatar just so people won't get sick.

Jonathan, maybe if your avatar wore a funny hat like CJRichard's. Or you could turn sideways to the camera like Justin did (a profile is only half the amount of ugly you get in a full-face shot). Or you could have a cartoon portrait done, like johnnymystic. Bill went with black and white and turned the contrast way up; he took a chance that it might help, and at least it's better than seeing him in good light and full color. Even Andy and Robert have a good idea: just stick with the default magic bunny.

But unless you're as good-looking as Laurie or Don up there, it's best not to go with just a straight photo. Trust me on this.

I like the avatar now that he looks more like a Race Track Tout...or more precicely Sidney Fields (Abbott and Costello's landlord on the old TV show.) I named my canary Sidney aften him because the bird has a little black toupee.

Jonathan's old avatar looked like he was sitting in the Principles office waiting for his dad to come get him after school...had that kind of "I'm gonna get my ass whipped" look.

"Hey bud...I got a tip on a nag in the 5th" fits him better.

I look like my avatar...except, my hair is longer, I'm not as squinty, I don't smile like that, and I don't go outside. I'm not sure if my nose is really that big or not.

I look like my avatar...I think.
