I like it. I always felt his old one made him seem like a smarty pants. This one gives a feel of playfulness.

I think magicalaurie's avatar makes him look like a girl.

Looks a lot like the old one, except for that catapiller under his nose, didn't know he was into entomology. Live and learn.

I like it...now he looks just like the fellow in my Genii magazine who is so talented that I am inspired to take my "coins across" the room and just put them quietly away.

Andy,

That would be fun, but I would win hands down. I'm sporting a silhouette bunny coming out of a top-hat. NOBODY can beat that. Why, I bet I'm the only one to think of it...

I don't know how to fell just now.

Between: "he's just plain ugly. New avatar, old avatar, it just doesn't make much difference. The ugly comes through loud and clear."

and

"I think magicalaurie's avatar makes him look like a girl."

I think I blew a funny fuse.......
Magic is doing improbable things with odd items that, under normal circumstances, would be unnessecary and quite often undesirable.

Josh Riel, you and Jonathan have much in common...'he' lives near (or in) Sing Sing and you look like you could have escaped from there. Small world.

Yah, but with Jonathan you need to spend a few days on Google or at the library, before you realize he's nuts. Josh's lunacy is more palpable to the masses.

Hmmm, Jonathon's new avatar makes him look likes he's hiding something. almost as if he knows everything and every post is just a bluff.

I'll be watching him slip up.

Perhaps he's a superhero and he had to change his look because his character was actually what he really used to look like.

Maybe he's an imposter.

I actually think JT is..

*ahh he's throwing coins at me ahhh*

The old one is a classic...I have considerd re-printing it on T-shirts to sell at conventions-

Without his permission of course!

I figure he took the picture himself, and he did it for a reason. He positioned the camera below his eye level for a reason. He smiled big into the lens for a reason. He grew a mustache for a reason. He's done it all for a reason. Darned if I can figure out the reason.

Makes him look about 6'2", doesn't it?
Will you walk into my parlour? said the Spider to the Fly,
Tis the prettiest little parlour that ever you did spy;
The way into my parlour is up a winding stair,
And I've a many curious things to show when you are there.

Oh no, no, said the little Fly, to ask me is in vain,
For who goes up your winding stair
-can ne'er come down again.

Did anybody else notice something weird? This post was locked and moved to a different section and now mysteriously is back in Not Very Magical Still. What type mystical manifestations is Jonathan capable of?

That was misdirection. Something happened on a different post while you were noticing this one.

May favorite avatars are "Airship" and "Mad Jake" followed by "Bill Palmer" (and to answer many of you, that's a small devil on my shoulder made by Bill Smith of Magic Ventures to replicate those little devils seen on Kellar and Thurston posters. Smile

Why thank you, Pete.

And I always thought that was a little Pete Biro doll on your shoulder. Smile
