It doesn't matter if you vote or not, None of the Ortiz books published by Kaufman will be reprinted in the near future. That's right no CardShark no Card Table, no Strong Magic. I am told this is due to the relationship between the author (Ortiz) and the Publisher (Richard Kaufman). It Just Plain Isn't Going to happen. Sorry to burst any bubbles.

You are misinformed and incorrect in every statement you’ve made. Without going into further detail, I’ll just mention that Richard Kaufman no longer owns the publishing rights to any of my books.

Mr. Ortiz, I apologize if I was misinformed and incorrect. I was going by what I believe is a reliable source in the world of magic publishing. I did not think I would be able to reach you to verify it and since you had yet to post anything on this thread I assumed that it was true. Again my apologies.

As soon as I’ve made a decision about Cardshark I’ll post it here.

Meanwhile, I am in the process of reprinting Strong Magic. Copies should be ready to ship in about four weeks. If anyone would like to pre-order, please PM me.

Sincerely,
Darwin Ortiz

Thanks Darwin,

I am not giving up the hope, and I am sure that a lot of other magicians think alike.

Keep your votes coming in folks . . .

If he's misinformed and incorrect in EVERY statement he made(and I assume Mr. Ortiz to be a very precise person), then this is a very interesting post indeed!

I'd buy it too. I should have bought one when I got my copy of At The Card Table.

Since this is based on Darwin's book, don't forget http://www.adaywithdarwin.com in mid-July.
Yes, that is my real name. Yes, I am a real person. No, you probably won't agree with me.

I have both the At the Card Table and Scams and Fantasies. They are very good.
I am waiting for the Cardshark to get reprinted.

Please Reprint - I have Strong Magic, At the Card Table, and Scams and Fantasies - Designing Miracles is a short wait away - but, something's still missing here!

Mr. Ortiz,
Add my vote to the Cardshark request list. As a direct purchaser from you of Desiging Miracles (which, like the SM book, makes reference to material & routines in "Cardshark"), I would love to add the Cardshark knowledge to my continuing card studies. There clearly are beneficial learning techniques and "design concepts" in Cardshark -- not merely more humm drum card tricks. Between this forum and the Genii forum, it would seem that your present publisher can get an idea of the demand level for this book. All the best in Magic and Life, Kenno.
