I second Magicgrandpa on the instand tables. I've been using one for a couple of years now, and absolutely love them. They're super light weight, but hold a decent amount of weight. Plus they break down and fit in all the cases I have. They really come in handy, even doing strolling when you need a quick table.

I just got my case today and only one word can describe it. WOW!!! Man that is a great quality case for my kid show stuff at a crazy lowprice. Thank you giuys for sharing this. This is exactly what I was hoping this thread topic would do. A chance for us all to share with each other gems of ideas that can help us with our kid show performances. Thank you all.

I'm still feeling your desire to order a second one. Lol.. Glad you got it and that you gave it the " WOW ". I personally am adapting it to hold my entire kids Birthday Show. I've been using the large wooden case with wheels and it has been a pain for many years. I'm going to locate a small stool or similiar device to set it on and work my show out of the case. John |

Man I love mine. I am going to be using it for the first time this weekend and I am consoldating several bags into this one case. this will save me on trips and is much sturdier. I really am thinking of getting another.
You absolutely could carry your whole kids show in it if you wanted to easily or a commando style act. It certainly is worth the money I spent on this. That is why I LOVE this post. It is a way we kid's show performers can really help each other out and share great tidbits of information that others may be able to benefit from. Kyle

Just remember who brought it up on this thread! I put it out there even though the one I got was broken. I still felt it was a good deal. Where's the love?

Kyle, can you tell us about the boxes for magic kits. What's the tip there?

I actually do not use boxes for the magic kits I create. I actually use a system making use of a nice large clear bag. Then I developed a custom graphic header. This header is about 2 inches high by the width of the bag. I then duplicate it on the other side and print them full color on card stock. Then they just get folded in half and stapled onto the tops of the bags.
Now this creates a really visual system for me because they pack up and take up less space when traveling and they look professional They also can be displayed on a rack system by punching a hole in the middle of the header. They also look great cause the kids can see all the fun magical props inside the bag and that draws their attention a lot more. It is a great system that works for me and does not cost me a lot of money as well. Kyle

That's a good one . . . Then you give them out if it's a birthday party magic lesson, but can also sell them as "back room" merchandise elsewhere ...
I like it. |

Yes... exactly. That is what I do. It works as both an item to give to the birthday child as well as a great and cheap packaging alternative when I sell them as BOR items after a larger show. being a graphic designer, it was easy for me to create a full color professional header for the bag and print them off myself. I then just fold and staple them to the tops of the bags and I am finished.

Kyle - would you have a pic of your bag? sounds very interesting, I'm helping a local kids show guy put his program together and he is looking for something just like that.

I´m going to try self-packing tricks. You just use plastic bags from the grocery store? Any particular ones? I suspect any thin cardboard stock which you can run through a printer can generate the logo-advert text?
I like it. Call it your Bag-o-tricks or something, and have an additional revenue source. You buy the tricks wholesale? Can you recommend a supplier or two? |

David: I will see if I can get a picture of it soon. I have a gig tommorrow and I can possibly take one then if I remember to. lol It really is a bag I found at a craft store like Michael's but it is made to hold scrapbooking materials. It has worked great formy needs. I will see what I can do my friend.
Mumblemore: My version for making my own trick bags is something I developed myself out of necessity. I needed way to be able to hang the bags up at my BOR table and I developed the double header approach I talked about earlier. I use large size plastic bags. You could even use large size ziplock freezer bags aslong as they are clear on both sides. Yes, Most card stock that is set up and laser printer compatible will work fine for the header design. In regards to my source for the tricks I get, I really can'treveal that here. Sorry as it is nothing personal at allmy friend. It just took me a while to find it and I would hate everyone going there and then I am stuck with nothing. I am sure you can understand. However you will be amazed at what you can find at dollar stores or Wal-Mart or Target. Keep your eyes open. Kyle

If anyone needs plush monkeys with magnets or velcro hands, Curious George lunch boxes, fez hats for routines, or all things "apes and monkeys" (including a fez "shell game") there's a website having a closeout sale with 50-70 percent off half their stock . . . http://www.monkeygoods.com/

If you are looking for cheap dragon and wizard figurines (like $3) and all kinds of dragon-themed boxes and decor, try this unlikely-sounding site http://www.martialartsgear.com/Decorativ......ome.html
They have good service and good prices. I just got my figurines and am putting together a mentalism "I can tell which of the four colored dragons you picked out of the dragon box" routine with a Harry Potter touch. . . |
