See if you can spot the four mistakes he made in this marketing attempt!

(i'll give a hint, Steve is a clown)

First, lets start with spelling and grammar!

That's two! That link is supposed to be a sample to excite us into hiring them! Why would a clown want a grey, dull site like that!

Well there is no contact information in the email.

Yeah, but technically if you search you can find a link to it on the sample site. But that's still incredibly poor marketing to make someone go on a treasure hunt in order to get your info.

Sounds quite arrogant and unpolite.

Plus, he put "NAME REMOVED" instead of his name....

He opened the correspondence by insulting/criticizing the prospect's current marketing.

The odd thing is that the website is pretty cool, and there is an interactive demo that's fun. So as programmers, these guys seem to know their stuff. But this attempt at marketing is pathetic!

If I got a letter like this, I know for a fact I wouldn't deal with em (if it was trying to be hired by me)

However, the 1) insulting opener 2) bad grammar and spelling 3) boring design (like saying "i can make you a clown costumes, here is a grey suit to show you how good" are all his.

The final bad marketing is the use of spam to get his message out!

Name (pronouced Nah-may) is a tibetan name for the 16th century. Removed (Rem-Oh-Ved) is from latin.

Ah, my mistake.

Well, I dinged him major points for pointing me to a web site that wasn't fully developed. Almost anybody can throw up static pages, but there wasn't any contact information on the website (fictitious phone number) to contact the company to see if they liked the services provided and the company didn't have any product (at least on the few items I clicked on) to view. My suspicions are the web site is bogus and not of a real client; so I would distance myself from this solicitation. Of course, I would have deleted the email simply due to the bad spelling and grammar in the initial contact.

Does your clown friend have a website?.... =P

As for me, the "About Us" page was exceedingly dull. Nothing at all about when the company was founded or even any pictures of the people working there, the founders, or the building just to liven up the page. It's a lot of space for having almost nothing to say. There's also no mention of a brick & mortar address. I like to at least know that there's a chance of actually being able to meet the people I'm buying from if I should happen to be in the neighborhood.

The "Contact Us" page mentions calling them during certain hours (Australian Eastern Standard Time?!?!?!?) and doesn't even provide a phone number. You don't even find out what their phone number is until the "Arrange a Quote" page. Why mention that the address/suburb is optional when there is an earlier statement about only fields having a * are required to have information? At that point, all other fields are optional by default.

The "Arrange a Quote" page has a bad link in it to the contact page. Also, why 4 days to get a quote?

Under "Browse Products" what the heck is "desking"? I don't know about any of you, but framed web pages are considered very passe' and not acceptable. Don't like them at all. Of course, that's my own humble opinion. Almost none of the links have anything in them and what descriptions of products that do exist would not entice me to buy.

Steve is right about this demonstration website being incomplete. If this is an example of their work, I would look elsewhere.

Is Austrailia close to Nigeria? If it is not the same people, it might be their brothers.
