I still think the Balducci is best. I find that not a lot of people remember those old exposure shows, if they even saw them at all.
The reason most of us remember them is because we are magicians and it makes us feel guilty. You know how we LOVE that!!! I still use the levitation and twisting arm illusion. If you choose your audiences wisely, it can be an experience they never forget and cannot be topped. Less is still more, simple is still better and directness of effect still matters most. My vote remains with the Balducci. Anyone else??? Best, Jerome.

I don't think anyone remembers the twisting arm illusion...I can do it all the time. But the balducci.....funny thing is, MY WHOLE CLASS was discussing the balducci and how they disliked (even the teacher) it while I was just sitting there doing my work. And I've never performed it in school or at all. Ugh High School.

I like "The Father of all Intimidating Destroyers" levitation.

I'm easily corrected though Especially give thought to people OUTSIDE of your age group and particular interests. Older people who have better things to do than watch television and that have NO interest in magic work well for me "Outside your age, outside your interests" is something I always keep in mind when performing select material. Go well, Jerome.

Granted, I did lose faith that any channel but the Discovery channel could ever have anything worth watching by my sophomore year in high school. But anyway, I've never met a single person who knew the secret. I keep the Balducci in one pocket and King's Rising in the other, just to be safe. As for the original question, if someone creates a good, practical levitation, any time is a good time. It's always good to have more than one way to reach a desired illusion, so if there's a new way to do something, I'm willing to learn it. |

Hello GDW,
Yep I am aware of all the current ones and I was half joking! the solution to a levi is not something that can be easily found. There seemed to be new ones fairly regularly over last few years. Part of my post was meant to be surprise tat we haven't hear about another one. Maybe one day something of a simple optical nature will be developed yes I know of one. Mr Knight had us all exited and waiting for a long time. Maybe one day. Good luck to anyone. I parted with a fair bit for something that was overhyped. Cards sponge balls etc.. are probably a safer bet in the meantime. Cheers TJD ps also had a lot of fun with Balduci especially before so much exposure! |

Devin's levitation is wonderful. If he does release it, and from what I know, he will eventually, it will be very nice, useable, strong . . . all the things we have come to know and expect from "Mr Knight"
Cheers, Jerome.
