Why would they see them? if that's the case your not doing something right. not trying to sound harsh, but that's the truth. one time I had a spec notice the shell. it wasn;t the shells fault, I screwed up, and I went back to practice.

Well, I'm not talking about shell right now. I mean like a bite-out coin or a folding coin. The one I have isn't very good. I know how to use shells, and I have been practicing with them for a long time. Where I used to perform, they look very close.

Johnson makes very good, affordable gaffs, but lately I've been spending more time with my Lassen dollar shell (the new gold, presidential dollar). I love the fact that it is a tail shell (given that there will be an entire presidential series, which seems to be the trend of the future for all newly minted coin sets), so this will never become obsolete. So... you'll spend $20 for a Johnson shell (be sure to get the Ultimate Expanded shell) or $40 for the Lassen dollar shell... which I HIGHLY recommend (if, in fact, still available). I should note that I am biased; I am a HUGE fan of Mr. Lassen's work. Nonetheless, it's certainly worth looking into, at the very least.
Best regards, and best of luck! Evan |

On a side note, the nice thing about a quarter ES (as opposed to a half dollar ES) is that you can easily use borrowed coins in a routine, whereas not many people (other than magicians) walk around with half dollars in their pocket.
