In the routine for "Slow Motion Duck" from David Copperfield, he uses a duck bucket and a..."----------" What's the name of that box he uses to vanish the duck? I love this skit, and I was thinking about using my duck to do something similar; not quite the same since I want to have original material and a lot of people had seen this from Copperfield, but my duck (now a duckling), is mostly black and with black beak, so do you think it would be a problem? Since I think he uses two ducks for the first part, right? Anyway, I thought of some ways to solve that, and even make some jokes about the way my duck looks (kinda like a penguin). The plush toy duck I could customize, so...any idea is very well received. And if anyone knows the name of that prop, could you let me know? I appreciate it; thanks in advance.

Antonio, the name of the effect is "Where Do the Ducks Go" and is available from several dealers, Abbott's Magic and the Trickery to name a couple. The color of the duck doesn't matter as long as the reproduced duck looks like the vanished one to create the illusion.

If you have an assistant, Abbott's version of the Where Do They Go vanish is a little "cleaner" than the classic DC version, but it is definitely more daring.
(How's that for being cryptic on an open forum?) Julie |
