I have been looking for a good prop case for a while now.

Can anyone point me to a place within the uk that sells reasonable priced cases for my ever
increasing magic collection

What a lonely little post... The only post mediaman ever made, and no one has replied for over nine years!

Didn't the song say it best "one is the loneliest number that you'd ever see".

Could it have been MARK LEWIS?!?

Dun dun dunnnnnn.....that's my best spelling of the cliff hanger notes from old movies. Smile

Why bring this old post back Colton? Are you working on the cold case files?

Well, a part of it was my sense of humor, but mainly I wanted to know if the post would appear at the top of the forum index. It did!

I found the OP's post, "interesting".

I just came into the Café in December, 2012, and the post is from June 5 2007.

In my 70 years, performing, I've bought a total of TWO prop cases from luggage shops. Both came from Ikelheimer/Ernst in NYC. They were reasonably priced, and well worth the money. I'm still using the second case which has about 25 years "experience" on the road. I did have a Merv Taylor 'SuTable built and used it for about 3 seasons. It looked fine, and was very practical, except that it weighed more than the props!, It got redlighted!

Jay Marshall and I were both addicted to prop cases. Jay "introduced me" to thrift shops! I've used a dozen different cases from thrift shops, all of which served well, but, eventually just wore out. Mostly they were used salesmen's sample cases. I just lined the interiors with small cardboard boxes to keep the small props "organized". Their costs were NOMINAL! Apparently salesmen don't carry samples anymore, as I haven't seen a sample case, or, a "catalog case" in a long time.

The OP was interested in finding a reasonably priced prop case for his 'ever increasing collection...: That makes me wonder if he ever did a show, as he talks about a "collection". I suspect that he is no longer a magician, --if he ever was!

IT wasn't, most likely, answered because it is such a personal question. One of those "open ended" questions that has to do with personal choice and props and act he has put together.

No use suggesting anything, if he items that are to big, or a quantity that will not fit. Then there is the close-up or stand-up question for the props.

Without more information, it is useless to try and respond to the unknown.
