Another day washed out! We've had <one> good Saturday so far that I had off! And I had errands to do and wasn't able to get out and busk. I keep saying; "OK, <next> Saturday. And it keeps raining!"
Yes I know, there's footage out there of a busker who was ballsy enough to actually perform in the rain, but even he admits he didn't exactly make major hats from the experience!

Yeah, just in time for a good New England chill!
Either that, or my nerve is going to fail. *sigh*

Also remember, any people that would stand in the rain to watch a show aren't the kind of tip you would want to work to in the first place.
Ballys has nothing to do with it.You would have to be RAELLY hungry to do that. Don |

Or you're just interested in sowing off. Granted the hats are all important, but some times you just want to perform for the heck of it!

...and now the schedule has been posted for the next two weeks and I have Monday and Tuesday off each week, having to work weekends!
I can't win.

Not sure what your pitch traffic is like on Mondays and Tuesdays, but do they have a bylaw forbidding it?
I work the street on my primary 2 pitches every sunny day, and cruse ship days that are cloudy.... Sorry rain doesn't do it for me at all....

I actually just came back from PEI and we went to the "Festival of Lights" where some international buskers where performing. (I am contacting the man who runs this festival to hopefully get in next year.)
In PEI, it was nothing but rain pretty much all week. And when it WAS sunny, it was only like that for a minute or two, then rain again. The weather literally changed by the minute. (That's the maritimes for ya!) However, when watching the USA Breakdancers (one of the buskers) It started to POUR in the middle of their act. And I mean it was REAMING down rain. God was letting all of his liquid glory pour down on us. A few people left, but out of generosity, the majority of the people stayed. And even though we were all out in the open, soaked as can be, it was really enjoyable. Unfortunatley, the breakdancers cut the show short because they didn't want to loose too many people for the hat line, (and they had electronics that couldn't get wet.) But it just goes to show that you can still have a good time out in the rain. |

New schedules came up while I was on vacation (Disneyworld! YAY!)
They have me working the next two weekends with Monday and Tuesday off! I might try to go out anyway. Thayer St. is a tourist/college area and it might still have some traffic during the week. OTOH, working Sunday means time and a half for about 7 hours.
