It's funny, but do you think it will really work? Or is this a set up?

I have no idea if that was real or not. If it wasn't real, he darn near convinced me! I was laughing so hard when I saw that - thanks for sharing.

Looks like a *** good NLP performance to me.
He is obviously pacing this poor guy and gains rapport.

Of course it's real. And the Brits are so polite. Gotta' love 'em!

Cheers! Smile

Oh yes this is funny, and also real. This is a method of aware hypnotism. Notice how before he asks
for his watch and wallet he starts talking very fast, he is giving quick commands that the man
can not do. Then when he asks a simple favor slowly, the mind computes it as a since of relief. So he did
what the con man asked. Very cool.

Looks like a very nice simulation of some hypnosis in action
Notice the handshake interrupt and the pacing just before.

Now wouldn't it be nice if embedded commands really worked that well.

He got the guy the first time, then when the guy came back to get his stuff, he was taken again!

I would love to see more, maybe on the streets of NYC or LA?

Made me laugh!

There was a clip right at the end of that episode showing a failed attempt to relieve a lady of her wallet in a similar fashion. It ended with DB walking off empty-handed (save for his bottle of mineral water) mimicking the lady's voice for gentle comedic effect.

I wonder if the success rate would improve if you didn't go for it all each time. Maybe just be happy with one or two items, then make off? I guess it's a numbers game? The more you work it, the better feel you'll have and will be able to know how far to go.

I would love to see the outtakes.

Was trying to locate that 'failed' clip from the end of the TV show, but it doesn't look like anyone's uploaded it so far. Sorry, Justin Smile
