Dennis Loomis has a good DVD on knots in a single piece of rope

They do tie a knot in the end, but using a different method.
I don't teach them how to do the Hunter Knot.
Depending on the reason for the workshop, this can be a nice metaphore
for problem solving, creativity ..whatever.

The passing the ends to another person bit, as described in Fulves,
is also used , but to extend the routine, rather than explain it.

I find if they play around with the effect long enough they will
work it out, so an interactive routine has to keep moving forward
and offer "interupts" or distractions. eg the transfer ploy and the
OHMAK.

Thanks for your answer about the hunter knot. However, I am a little bit confused. I am looking for - was must be the Hunter puzzle knot - where the spectator do as I do, but will not end with a knot, but the magican do (without letting go off the ends) Where is this explain?

Kristian, it's in Fulves, as I've already told you here, and also by PM!

There was a previous thread where I was confused about the difference between the Hunter puzzle knot and the Hunter knot. Do a search and you'll find it.

The Hunter puzzle knot is taught in many sources: Fulve's, Ency. of Rope, Wilson's Complete Course.... The method that allows the spec to finally (after failed attempts), is in Wilson's Complete Course, and the Wiz Kid's Rope Magic dvd (which also has some other nicely routined rope effects that use spec. involvement. I'm not sure if it is in Fulves or the Ency.

RE: Rope Through Neck
There is a version of passing a loop of rope thru the neck that I've not seen since I was in grade school. I learned it using a loop of string. The loop is fairly placed behing the neck, and without any funny wrap arounds, with the hands in each end of the loop, the hands are brought forward in front of the performer's neck, then "poof", the loop is now fully in front of the neck.

The Hunter "puzzle knot" has a knot at the end if you know the trick, if you don't know the trick you will not get a knot. The other Hunter knot trick that I know of is the "Hunter Bow knot" and if tied right it looks like a knot but it is not.

Perfect - I have now found what I have been looking for, in Mark Wilson´s book.
But I want to this where everybody in the audience has a piece of rope, in will succeed in the last fase. They do so in the routine, but you start it - the magican - and the spectator ends it. Is there any way the spectator will succeed without - the magician - touching the ropes. Maybe tie in another way?? Any ideas?

Have you looked at Fulves?!

The spec can get the knot, w/o the magician, only with the assistance of another spectator.

The purpose is, that I will use the rope routine in my motivational show. Everybody gets a rope.
I will be able to tie knots, but the audience fail. In the end everybody succeed to tie a knot. (Do - as - I do)

You would need to change the method.

There is one way to tie a knot in a rope w/o letting go of the ends - cross your arms before you grab the ends of the rope.

When doing walkaround I almost always open with a rope routine.

Threading the needle, 3 variations.
rope through neck
Wrist tie.
