I purchased a set of DVD's on the Beatles appearance on the Ed Sullivan show. Mainly because I knew there was an appearance by Fred Kaps which I wanted, and much to my surprise, on the 4th show there was Fantasio doing ( I must say fantastic ) a dove act. I thought he was primarily canes & candles..So if you ever see the DVD set, get it..

The effect is the important thing, how you achieve it is not.......

I once produced a show for the IBM Convention featuring all acts that HAD BEEN SEEN ON THE SULLIVAN SHOW.
Jay Marshall, Karrell Fox, Fantasio, John Moehring, and Roger Ray (non magician but he was my favorite all-time Sullivan Show comedy act) who got two, YES 2, Standing ovations at our show. I don't have the old program handy and I think there was one other magician on our show but can't recall another name.

Was Marvyn Roy on that show? I think I saw that show. If not that one, I saw one that had the same theme. Marvyn spoke about how he refused to cut his act down to eight minutes to get on the show. Eventually, he realized the error of his ways and managed to do an excerpt on the show.

I think you are right, Marvyn and Carol were the other act. Boy, do I wish we had a video of that show.

Fantasio also did a colorful silk act especially for one of the first color telecast on the the Sullivan show.

When he was in South America, he and his wife went by Larry and Dolly. It sounded exotic down there.

Larry! Yes.
Monica went by Daisy. Not Dolly. But not in South American. Only in the state. When he was South American it was always Fantasio. I remember them when we did the tour down there. It really WAS the World's Greatest Magicians on that tour.
