Is there still anyone doing girl to gorilla shows? Six Flags used to have Zambora every year at Halloween, but they dropped the show last year. Does anyone know of any on the east coast?

He only plays a few fairs with it.

Constantine has one.
It is mothballed and the bannerline is used for his oddities museum.

Phil Wilson has one.
It is mothballed also.

Jeffrey had Truax's Gorilla show.
I think he lost it in a poker game.

I worked the blow curtain on my parents GtoG when I was only 9 yrs old!
I would usually get knocked down and trampled.
We were a family of four.
Mom & Dad,my brother Lee(bally talker& gorilla) and I(ticket seller & blow curtain/security).
We never hired help,just us four.
Ahh the good ol'days...

Pete that sounds like my family right now!! My wife, my 14 year old daughter and my 11 year old son help me everyday at the Freakshow. They help set up and tear down. My daughter also does contortion while my son sells carnival toys on the outside. When the crowds aren't coming in like they should, they act as paying customers and always bring in a few more folks by the way, I would love to buy a Girl to Gorilla if anyone has one for sale....also a Headless woman. I can't pay a lot, but if you know of anyone that's just got them sitting in a trailer, let me know.

Hi zombie5225, I am doing one this year. This will be my 2nd year doing a Girl to Gorilla. I perform this on Halloween haunted house fundraiser. It goes over real well. This year I have plenty of time to rebuild and modify it. The G2G is the last part of the haunted house and I will have the specs go into a room to watch a short video on a large screen televsion then they will enter the main room where a host will tell more of the story.

I have been doing the Girl to Gorilla show for about 4 years now every Halloween for a haunted house. We did about 60 shows over 3 nights. Wwe are the last part of the show which really ends it on a high note for the attendees. It usally takes me about a day to build it and get the lighting and audio right. The Girl to Gorilla at Phillip Morris's halloween haunt is Tim Deremers. Tim mostly plays Ohio and a few out of state spots. His show is seamless! A really beautiful show!

I had entirely forgotten about the Girl to Gorilla scene in 'Diamonds Are Forever'

I saw Girl to Gorilla at a local carnival back around 1973, and spoke with the talker before showtime. His brother played the gorilla; his wife was ticket taker, and his daughter played "Sheena the Gorilla Girl" (she also looked totally burned out on the grind business).

I want one!!! That was cool...

The last Girl to Gorilla show I saw, was in the late 80's early 90's on the Crown Amusements carnival at the Ionia Free Fair, Ionia Michigan. It must have been 100 in the shade and humid that day, the top was a black top " Picture show" tent. And of course was totally sidewalled, Still there were large crowds that would fill that tent with each performance, it must have been 200 degrees in that tent hahaha . I am sure it must have been a long day in the harness for the lucky person in that heavy furry Gorilla suit. I sure would like to see Girl to Gorilla shows coming back to the midway. By the way, Webtech NICE JOB!! A VERY GOOD SHOW!!!!!!!

Thanks for the kind words! I am glad you all liked the video. I am humbled just to be accepted in such a fine group of people here! I have a question, does anyone think I should take down the video? Do you think it gives away the surprise? The beauty of the G2G is the unkown. I do not want to hurt this old time sideshow illusion in any way. If you all say so I will take it down in a heartbeat!
