I would agree, that wouldn't be right if it's camera editing...I have problems with the show any way...surely they haven't stooped down that low to do camera tricks.

The whole show is getting strange for me. They are hiding the fact that Kevin is a working pro let alone a legend in magic. They list him as being from Michigan. He grew up there but as we all know he now lives ( and works ) in Vegas.
I say he's a ringer anyway. He is on the show to keep the quality up and is more or less hired to appear. He will not win but instead will make it to the final round like Nathan Burton did. Nathan Burton was the greatest thing that happened to the first AGT and I think they wanted to replicate that quality. Regardless....its good to see Kevin getting some national recognition from laymen. His effects have made so many others famous...its time he gets to bask in some of his own effects glory. Best, Tim |

Its not video editing to make the effect look better its video editing to speed up a long effect.
The routine goes like this. 1. Full size man cut in two with chainsaw 2. Half body raises up off the table 3. Half body lowered down to rolling table via board wile the legs walk off stage 4. Table with half man rolled out to the audience where a lady is invited to check if the man is alive 5. After she freaks out the half man jumps up and runs around on stage then exits stage left 6. The table is wheeled out with legs across the back and half man body in front 7. The two body parts restored using the same gimmick as the DC laser effect. All and all a GREAT illusion that gets a HUGH reaction every time. Lance |

Thanks Lance!
It all makes sense now. I don't see why it has to be edited for time. They are dragging that show on so much that its putting me to sleep. Whats with the marching people on to stage and taking forever to tell them if they got passed or not?? ZZZZZZZZ We're getting less and less of the acts and more of the judges staring at photos saying...." that one is good" or " needs more work" It is supposed to be about the talent isn't it???? Thanks again for explaining to us what we didn't get to see in the show. Best, Tim |

I just saw Kevin James last night in World's Greatest Magic Show here in Vegas.
The restoration of the sawn-in-half guy at the end of the routine is very cool, and very deceptive. It's a bit similar to Fearson/Copperfield's "Laser" and Mayne's "Bisection" in how it looks, in my opinion. It's really a great, great ending and seals the deal for the audience, who was absolutely going NUTS when they saw this presentation. As I recall, the restoration was not in the show the last time I saw it December of 2006. He also performed Floating Rose, Bowling Ball, and Snow during his segment. The British version of America's Got Talent (Britain's Got Talent) is very, very good. --Jack |

Thanks Jack,
Kevin is a real thinker isn't he? I've got to see this one live. I'm so glad it wasn't a camera edit. I can live with the switch.. its a clever one. Best, Tim |

Kevin is one of the most brilliant thinkers around, not to mention an honest, super friendly guy. I've met him a couple of times and he couldn't have been nicer. Great to see some real talent making it to that show this year.

Working pro or not, Kevin is one of the best acts AGT has had this year!
I did think Anthony Reed did a great job also, and I think he should have also been put through. I know it is all about the ratings though, which is why acts like Boy Shakira made it through. a |

Never dub the video for anyone who asks for a copy" I've had multiple requests for a bootleg copy and answered each with.. " Sorry but I promised Kevin I wouldn't" Case Closed. Best, Tim |

The Urban Action Figure guy who fell on his head and went to the hospital.... that was indeed setup. He was to be voted out so they made an agreement with him to mock an injury for ratings.. in trade he received a substancial contract in a Vegas Show.
Yes.. these shows are setup for the most part. |

Ha ha.. Tim.
The dead giveaway was the fact that they show him spinning on his head in his act. Then when the accident happened, he somehow fell down and then magically raised straight up on his head as he does in his act. Sorry, but when you fall down, your neck does not allow you to stand up on your head unless you know the proper technique. The media gave the producers hell about this stunt in vegas and it was quickly discovered the guy was contracted as a new act in a local show. Everything got leaked. But yes, the guy is amazing to say the least. Same with many other contestants. After they were seen on the show, they received contract offers, some substantial. So they had to make a decision, continue with the show and hope to win 1 million with the chance of losing both the money and the offered contracts, or take the contracts being offered to them. This is why some of the best acts on the show didn't make it through even though they were obviously better than ones that did... they already decided to take offers. I mean, come on, boy shakira in the finals. |

I have to admit, AGT is really starting to annoy me. They spend so much time on "backstage drama" and then severely edit the acts. I had the opportunity to see his sawing in half act live. This is an incredible piece of magic, and their creative edits didn't do it justice. Incidentally... He did restore the guy live on stage when I saw him. This was NOT a Criss Angel moment...
I record the show on my DVR. By the time I fast forward through the commercials and backstage drama I get the entire two hour show watched in around 45 minutes. I guess it's frustrating, because it's really obvious this whole thing is rigged. Boy Shakria? Come on... If you're going to rig it then just lose the pretense of a contest... |

They really need to stop featuring several contestants over all the others. If you go to NBC's website, all you find are videos of the "favorites". I don't know who votes on these favorites, but they should all be featured on NBC's site and the whole audition segments should be available. It's discriminatory to feature somebody like Boy Shakira over Kevin James (Last time I checked, Boy Shakira had a featured video on NBC.com and Kevin James did not).
Was there more to Kevin's sawing that we didn't see? They only showed like 30 seconds of a segment that was supposed to be three minutes long. By the way, following the original Rajah Raboid sawing workings, you would be able to restore the person. Then again, there are a few things that are different from the original... |

On the subject of AGT being staged, all I can say is the story line from the British version look and feel very seminar.
We had the black rapping granny and they have the white one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ldPS5q_28......;search= We have an urban stuntman and they have one to. Oh, check out what the guy says at the end about his dislocated neck. I am sure they said now that an idea for are American show. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i5pdSRo6F......;search= We had the strange puppet guy that stole the show once he got into his routine, remember the dragon puppet guy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pqRd_4wY8......;search= We had the strange knife throwing act and they have the same thing. Listen how Piers Morgan says almost the same thing for both knife throwing bits. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fvX1XFCgu......;search= Lance |

Heres an AGT question.... On the show, it appears as if you show up and get in line and hope to get in and on. This can't be the case, how would you show up with an illusion and stand in line with your giant roadcase?
If anyone has gone through this for the show, could you please elaberate a bit. thanks sb |

I do not know for certain how they do it, but I can bet my bottom dollar that the average Joe off the street showing up would never make it on the show without some kind of connections.

Well Howdy everyone!
My name is Larry Clark and I was a performer on AGT last year. ( I cannot reveal everything publicly I am still under contract for the next 3 months with NBC) #1 The fall that the urban action figure guy took (falling down then back up on your head and then back down again all while "Stiff") is called a Toothpick. Everyone who ever went to Ringling Bros. Clown College learned it, it was a staple of silent film comedians, you have seen it in countless films (check out my friend Max doing it in "Ready to Rumble" in the scene where they are trying to hire new wrestlers in the barn) #2 Are some people Ringers? YES! #3 Can average Joe audition, and make it on for their shot? YES! #4 Did you audition? No, I was invited on the show. Feel free to ask me questions I will try my best to answer them. (I will post more later but I just got home after spending then past weeks performing on the road, and just spend all day in the Atlanta airport, ugh!) Just, Larry |
