I wasnt sure where to put this topic so I put this in this section since I'm using it for busking. I just watched GAZZOS routine for the cups and balls (his dvd) and I am blown away. I watched his routine and his teachings of it. I wanted to change up the routine a little so I don't end with oranges and a melon, but instead lacrosse balls, tennis balls, raquet balls, etc. and then end with a large soccer ball under my hat. now I saw on RNT2's website these cups:
http://www.rnt2.com/product.aspx?productno=197 now I want to but these, but not for THAT price (im only 13 keep in mind) I mean I can afford them, but I would rather try to buy them of of ebay or something like that, that might be a little cheaper than 250 dollars. ive done searches on ebay doing diffrent words from the description, title, and everything I could think of on ebay but couldn't find them. PLEASE help if you can. Im serious about starting to busk, I'm starting to build a whole busking routine. So please help if you can to help me find these types of cups (or any type) I mainly want a set of cups that stack well (not wobbely) and can hold a regulation tennis ball. i'ver started become serious about busking by the way, this isn't a whim thing. so once again PLEASE help if you can. I would really like to find THOSE cups for cheaper, but any set that looks professional and stacks nicely and can hold a regulation tennis ball. THANKS -Jeff

Jeff,
Run down to CVS pharmacy and buy three of the solid color acrylic cups they sell there. I know a guy working the streets as we speak that is using them in his show and they work great, are light, and won't break. Best of all they are 1.99 a piece. Try those, see if you like doing the cups, and then think about upgrading to something else. If you are looking for a cheap pouch go to a uniform supply shop and buy a waiter's apron. They are black and you can easily turn them from three pockets into two pockets with a seam ripper and a little patience. I have used these on the street and they work great. It is easy to spend a ton of money on the cups and balls I think it is a lot smarter to use a set up like this for a while to see if the cups and balls are for you before you drop a ton of cash on stuff that will wind up in the back of a closet. You can also make a pouch out of one of your mothers old purses (with PERMISSION of course) just cut some slits to put a belt through it.

Jeff,
I know a guy right now that is making $150 - $200 per show using those very cups. It ain't the cups my friend it's the magician. Honest. Try them out. Jeff,
Any advice that Danny Hustle gives you, you can take to the bank. There is someone on e-bay that is making and selling cheap pouches. He is asking some were around $30.00 to $50.00. Just search for "cups and balls".

Danny is right. In fact, during certain times of the year, you can get seasonal cups. You can get cups with a Hallowe'en motif, an Easter motif, a Christmas motiv, a Bar Mitzvah motif. There are plastic cups with golf clubs and nearly everything else you can think of on them.
You don't need any more than that to start with. Also, consider loads other than tennis balls. Wal-Mart has some rubber balls that are about $5.00 for FIFTEEN BALLS!!! These are called "Spring balls." They are great loads for slightly smaller cups. They are a little smaller than a lacrosse ball, which is slightly smaller than a tennis ball. Or use fruit. If you want to get an idea of what is out there, visit the cups and balls museum. PM the curator for a username and a password.

Will give everyone some advice and take it for what it's worth. I'm in the sign and engraving business. I deal with flucuating metal market on a daily basis. Copper went up another 12% over the last 2 months. Wether its Canadian, China, UK, US or India, the copper market is in turmoil, aluminum isn't far behind. So if you're going to buy a good set of cups, get them while you can. Our vendor is predicting a 30-34% over the next year on copper again. Even the thin cheap cups won't be avaialable cheap anymore. Then on top of that transport has gone up 22% over last years fees to get the stock to us.
For the beginner or person who doesn't care what they're cups are actually made of, Party City, Kmart Walmart, and numerous Goodwills are the place to look. I found a 999 fine sterling silver bowl perfect for the actual Roy Benson routine at a salvation army, 1/2 price day to boot, the bowl cost me 25 cents As far as getting THOSE cups cheaper, not in this lifetime. All of the advice on here is brilliant as always on the Café.
Sorry to go a little off topic, but I just had to mention this. Am I the only one who thinks 13 is way to young to start Busking?
Yours,

Chad, thank you for your kind words, I don't lurk, I'm always available by phone and just about everyone knows where my shops are if I'm not in one I'm in the other, very rarely at home though. Seems like Michael is plugging Riser literally maybe? Hold on let me scroll up I want to make sure I quote her err hiim right.... "can be seen on the worlds foremost Cup& ball website
http://www.jamesriser.com What world are you from? While Jim's site has a lot of pictures on it, I would consider the C&B Museum the foremost in both historical and up to date information. No I take that back, I would not consider it, it is and the curator has the knowledge I only dream about having the time to apply to my own collection. If he isn't producing his cups anymore, maybe since it's the new millenium it's time for a new millenium cup.

Take Danny's advice, then hit the bricks. save your hats to pay for your new cups, this way you know that the props payed for them selves.
as far as durability is concerned. Tupperware made a set of tumblers that stacked perfect for cups and balls. leaving about 1" or more attic And Tupperware still comes with a LIFE TIME guaranty. do your cups have that? I to will be in the market for some new cups so I completely understand how hard it is to make sure you get the best deal you can. And I have bills to pay. DWmagic I think I was about 13 or so when I did my first street show. (to far back to remember )

LOL Tupperware! Now there is a product I haven't heard about in a long time as far as cups is concerned. If you live in the Orlando area, there is a Tupperware facility on Orange Blossom Trail, maybe you could go in and try before you buy
"Is that Makeup?" Ok smart alec

Jim Riser's words about the Michael Lee Millenium cups are as follows:
"On the opposite end of the spectrun are the Michael Lee Millennium Cups. These cups are large! Notice the clean design and quality of spinning." The only other quotes concerning the quality of these cups are the ones in Michael's ads, including one from Houdini. Interesting.
