I recently bought a PK ring G2 and I'm wondering what to do with it. I know the two effects that come with the ring, but the ring seems pretty weak and I would like some advice from other magicians with similar experiences.
Thank you, Sahun Hong |

I would immediately start to think of Prohibition ^^
It's definitely worth having a look at. |

You can always use it as a compass, no need for GPS anymore

Mm. I have Prohibition, and plan on doing it. I like doing it with coins though. The "spill out" move is really good.

I just purchased one of these rings myself, to use for a couple tricks I have learned... I was hoping for a good DVD of things to do with it. I saw the "Wizard PK Ring DVD by World Magic Shop" but have yet to order it. Does anyone have an opinion on it?

There's some really bad reviews on that dvd here on the Café. I'd advise you skip it.

I have heard some good things though from the Subterfuge followup DVD. The sleights taught there should work well with any PK ring.
No trees were killed in the making of this message, but a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.

I have seen Subterfuge in action which is a good trick. You can also use your ring in a chop cup routine. Also anywhere shim material can go ie. cards, balls, ect. My only recommendation would be not to drop the ring which sounds like duh; but mine split in two!

I've read good reviews of Randi's material from other Café members, and she certainly has a passion for PK material. I use my ring very infrequently (it's not really my style; I just wanted a new "toy" at the time), but I imagine that may change when Randi releases her DVD. |

Thanks Magiguy.
One problem is, that I can't demo the routines/effects. You already have the secret, the pk ring. I could put out the DVDs with a demo then let everyone find out later that they need a pk ring, but that's even worse. Just know there is more than meets the eye with these DVDs. Randi |

I just received an announcement from World Magic that Randi's DVD are now available. Buy 3 and get the fourth one free.

To the question: Is it possible to perform Cesaral Melting Point with a wizard pk ring?
The special gimmicks included in Cesaral Melting Point Reloaded are the proper ones for the effect. The use of a PK ring would not have enought force for the effect and would expose the load. With a PK ring you can perform some of the effects you have in "Cesaral Melting Point Reloaded" Cesar Alonso (Cesaral Magic) |

The nail under the cups trick!
Have three or four wooden or cardbord squares, one with a nail sticking through it. Put styrofoam cups over each. Then you turn your back as a spectator mixes them up so you don't know which one has the nail under it. Then using the Pk ring you can wave your hands over the cups and know which cup has the nail! You then go and smash the others without the nail and not harm your hand. There are many expensive versions of this trick but this method is great and cheap. |

Woaaaa............................
For this type effect, expensive may be better. I've seen two people pierce their hands so far, one a magician, and one a volunteer who stupidly did what the magician told her to do (I think she now owns his sub trunk and a few other things). Jim |

Yeah I saw a video on youtube of magians screwwing this trick up and stabbing there hands.
But the PK ring is a sure fire method for this trick. You will automaticaly know the location of the nail. Even better you can strap a larger PK magnet to your wrist if you are whearing long sleeves. |
