Doc, differing in opinion with the person who makes your cups is not a wise idea

Chad: What is really good about the Johnny Paul cups is not the cups, but his routine (which requires the correct size/shape cup). If you see him do the routine on the Stevens tape/dvd, you will find a wonderful routine for the conditions which Johnny worked... close up.
No good for a busking scene, but again, up close... hard to beat. I have to get back on practicing the routine as I've been sidetracked doing only the Indian cups and/or a bowl routine of late.

I have that DVD Pete. You are correct; it's amazing!
It is as magical an effect as I could ever hope to perform. |

Good eye Richard. They are indeed chromed Sisti's. Might be the first set, only Jim would know. When I called him to order the copper I asked about chrome. He said he'd look into it. Charged a little extra and he sent them right out.

Hey, Jake, is it possible to antique bronze a set of cups that have been previously chromed?

I think she was confuded, Frank. That does explain however why I can't find my commemorative addition Pope John Paul coffee cup set from the Franklin Mint.
I loved those too. They were pewter rimmed and stamped with a seal of approval. I even had a certificate of authenticity...only 200 sets were to be made and the guy on the late night infomercial practically guaranteed that they'd be collectors items in the very near future. I was gonna take 'em to the antique road show next time it came 'round too. Oh well...least I got a book on magic comin' my way. BTW, do you know if Mark explains his method for opening a pack of cards in that edition??? |

Weird question: Are cups such as the Penguins, Udays, and Magies "collector worthy"?

If you are a hard core collector, a clean set of ANY cup belongs in your collection.

Most of the cups now considered to be the most collectable items were not produced as high-end props. In the future, it may be that some of these mass-marketed products are highly sought after. For those collecting right now, it depends on the collector's level of sickness - (did I say 'sickness'? Sorry - I meant to say 'enthusiasm') - as to whether these form part of his/her collection. They're in my collection, but then there's no way back for me
