The Peavey Escort is 60 lbs twice the weight of the Fender PD-150 and more money. For this weight one could go with the Fender PD-250. The Peavy has four Mic/Line inputs. This Peavey has a built in equalizer is AC ONLY and a 10inch Woofer with a Piezoelectric Horn Tweeter. The Peavy has extra items like stands built in to the system. Speakers are 4 Ohms

Fender PD-150
Fender PD-150 Weight is 28 lbs and over $100 cheaper. This unit has a VIP control which I never used and at times it got in the way, by shutting down the other inputs. The PD-150 has 3 Mic/line inputs. This sytem is being discontinued in favor of the Fender 150 PLUS system. This Unit has the ability to use AC or DC (Battery Operated) Speakers are 8 ohms

Fender PD-150 Plus with CD
Fender PD-150 Plus weights 30 lbs, is the newest system (June 2007) and has a CD with it. It is aboout the same price as the Peavy. The PD-150 Plus has 2 mic/line inputs no VIP control, and a CD player installed. It is quality souning system wit brand recognition name. THE PLUS is AC ONLY. For some reason Fender decided to remove the DC capability. This PD-150 Plus gives you a four-channel mixer, specialized DSA speaker design, and most importantly an innovative feedback rejection system . Speakers are 8 Ohms

They all come with a Microphone.
They all come with a reverb control. The reverb is not necessary for magician.
They are all 150 watts, except the Peavy has 4 Ohm speakers and fender has 8 ohm speakers.
They all have stereo inputs and outputs.
They all can handle most schools size assembly rooms.

Since I owned Fender P-150 and now own the Fender PD150 Plus with CD. I can say the sound quality is excellent. My choice for purchasing the Fender PD-150 PLUS and selling the older Fender P-150 (older than the PD-150), is because of the newness (6/07), the sound quality (the Fender Brand Name recognition for quality), the CD feature, the weight, and the innovative feedback rejection system features. My P-250 is 58 lbs and it is heavy to lug around. The Peavey is the same weight as the P-250. I never used the DC system with the PD-150 so that feature was unnecessary.

Well I did choose the Fender PD-150 PLUS with a CD and the above paragraph is why.

I'll add one additional bit. The Fender PD systems use Bose Speaker technology and the Peavy systems do not. 'Nuff said.

I sell both. I use Fender. Go with the Fender.

I just purchased the Passport 150. It didn't come with a microphone. Had to go back to the same store the next day and spend another $100.

Is the microphone supposed to be included? I could always go back.

It depends on what it lists. 2nd hand or used may not come with a Microphone, but the New PD-15 Deluxe PLUS with CD does come with a microphone, and so did my P-250

if you bought a p150 that is an old model and you should know that.
if you bought a pd-150 it should have come with a mic and you should know that too.

Both of my PD-250's came with corded mics. I don't use them personally as I wear a headset mic, but I carry one with me in the event a podium mic goes down.

If your 150 came with a mic it should have been in the rear compartment with the power cord and speaker cables. Check with the store.

before 5 day's I purchased the Passport 150 and I see microphone it's could p-51
yesterday I back the p-150 and purchased pd 150 plus from Ebay company name : AVGIANT - $500 + COVER $29

I THINK ITS THE BEST CHOICE OF GROUP FENDER PASSPORT 150 WATT

I've actually had people purchase the P-150 and one year later find the microphone and cord in the back compartment. Did you look in there.

Going to Abbotts would take the whole month except for a few day at the end of the month.

As for Sound systems, keep in mind I will have three: The Roland CM30 for in-house and small shows, daycare centers, etc., The Fender Passport PD-150 PLUS with CD for school shows, and the Fender P-250 for any large shows. I will also be getting the Mackie SRM150 when it is available and compare it to the Roland. I may replace the Roland with the Mackie because of the Mackie's size, weight, sound quality and 150 watts. (No Stereo)

I have a 2 year old Fender PD 150 and it works great...came with the handheld microphone in a faux leather zip up bag. I've found that this system works great for my school shows but is a little heavy for smaller libraries. The new Virtual SoundMan Portable looks like the thing for these. Another thing to add would be IMHO is the MP 3Tech along with LCD display from Wireless Wizardry...now you've got yourself some sound capabilities!

I love my Fender PD-250. It is a heavy, but there's not many if any as compact that will do what it will. One of these days I probably will get something smaller and lighter for small shows. Most likely a Carvin Stagemate.

The Fender Passport works for me because of it's features, sound quality and size. Most of the time my SUV is filled to the gills whether I am doing a magic gig or a music gig. I also like the compact style and the way the speakers snap to the mixer in a single package. Saves space and trips to the vehicle.

Fender now has a PD-500 that has features that are near-perfect for me. However, I don't really need 500 watts. It actually weighs a slightly less than my PD-250. I was hoping Fender would redesign the 250 with all the features of the 500, except for less power, of course. Also, a smaller power amp and perhaps speakers designed to handle less power should mean less weight too.

Well, they did redesign the PD-250 and now it's called the PD-250 Plus. I am really disappointed in that it does not have the same features as the PD-500. If it had I would have bought one in a minute.

I don't know about the P-150, but I just purchased a PD-150 and it's supposed to (and did) come with a microphone and its cable tucked away in the little compartment towards the top of the middle section.

I didn't receive the power cable nor the speaker cables that were supposed to come with the unit, however, so I too had to go back to get those (free of charge).

By looking at the "specs" section of the Passport Systems (go to Products, then Fender Audio, then Passport) at http://www.fender.com you'll see that it should come with the mic; so if you bought it brand new you should ask for a refund of your hundred buckets.

My PD-250 came with 2 Fender, handheld microphones. They are actually pretty decent mics. I have a bunch of Shure SM-58's that I use for singing gigs, but I use the Fender mics at magic shows. I normally use a wireless mic, but I like to take the Fender handheld for the spectators to use, and also to have in case the wireless were to malfunction. It always pays to have a backup plan! The Fender mics have a switch which comes in very handy. My SM-58s do not have a switch.

By the way, when I include ventriloquism in my shows my puppet needs a mic too. The Fender mics are perfect for him!

I use the Peavey Escort... I find the sound quality a lot beter Ive been using mine for 6 years already...along with a Shure Wireless Mic and an I-Pod

I am about to be using the Peavey as a back up to the Fender pd-150. The peavey is extremely heavy - even when you are rolling it. But the sound is great and it is a workhorse and has never, ever given me any problems.
