Hello,
In the Linking Ring for this June, my One-Man Parade was featured. I have received a bit of feedback via email, but I was wondering if anyone has any feedback, critiquing, critisisms, or advice for the future. My goal is to improve the magic I create, and I need help on how to achieve the best. So, what are your thoughts? Any effects that stood out positively? Negatively? Anything is very much appreciated! Thank you! Posted: Jul 28, 2007 4:03pm Did anybody see it? Michael Kras

Hey man, I saw it, thought it was pretty *** good! I've been using the deck control effect, with the selection on the bottom, the half pass, and the color change (that was from your parade, right?). I'll look through it again and give you my thoughts. My wife saw it sitting open to your page and said "Hey look, another kid who can do magic better than you!" I hope she managed to find a new place to live by now.

Something that stood out negatively?
The Half Pass Peek. Why on earth would anyone even want to do three half passes just to peek a selected card? Think in terms of move reduction rather than expansion. Then you built it into "Prediction Plus" so you have a card effect that uses nine half passes in total. Of course, that's just MY viewpoint. There is no doubt you are a skilled handler of cards and I wish you well, anyone submitting a parade deserves thanks for sharing. Paul. |

Originally, the Half Pass Peek was meant as a joke. But since it accomplished what I wanted it to in a very "fair" manner (from spec's POV), I used it in competition. To be fair, a lot of the magicians in the room thought I was using a marked deck. Ah well, good for laughs.
