I don't think its out yet, is it? this is just my oppinion, but I think the most "modern" sleeving ideas come from justin miller and platt since there really is no real position change of the body or upward wrist movement when the said object is sleeved(just my beleif, not saying its the only way to go).

I think it was this month's issue of Genie (or maybe Magic) but we each got a free DVD of Rocco explaing much of his sleeving ideas. He, of course, makes it look easy and powerful. This would require MUCH practise.

Rocco is a sleeving master. Unreal technique!

I have. The first disc is mainly a few techniques and demos of sleeving different items, which Rocco then goes on to teach a couple SHORT routines (if you want to call them that) with a few of those items. Nothing earth shattering here. Basic sleeving techniques.
The second disc is the walk through of his 2006 FISM act using a clear coat so you can see how each item is loaded, retrieved, etc. Might be a nice thing to watch for ideas and handling, but useless, unless you want to do Rocco's act.... IMO Rocco's FISM act doesn't have any reason. It's just a series of production after production, transformation after transformation....strawberry to lipstick...for me that's a stretch. The act was built for magicians, and that's what it is. A magician-fooler. As a side note, after watching these a couple of times, I did notice that Rocco has a few "tells" I admit I didn't see these the first run through, and I am sure most will not, but after another viewing, they stand out like a sore thumb. All in all the DVDs are average. For a n00b looking to get into sleeving I would point you in the direction of Cloutier. This way, you can learn a few routines that you might actually use. For the guy that has been sleeving a while that is interested in seeing how Rocco used some crazy pocket management to fool magicians, it's worth a look. |

If the tells didn't stand out on the first viewing, then a lay audience shouldn't see them either.

I've got Rocco's disks.
The routine run-thru with the invisible jacket is a great idea for picking up the rhythm of loading and misdirection. Found it very worthwhile. |

I wonder if Rocco ever uses the topit?
I've never seen any evidence (but you're not supposed to) The combo of sleeving and topit is a killer for Cloutier. |

Stevens Magic has this. They are also throwing in a copy of the book "If It Fits...Sleeve It!" The Magic Of Rocco Silano for free as well if you buy the DVD's from them.

I have Rocco's Basics of Sleeving 2 DVD's. I'm on the first DVD and thing the clear jacket for teaching is so clever. I'm a huge Rocco fan and love his performing and teaching style!

I got to see him perform his FISM act live at the Castle and it was fantastic. Ended up picking up his discs and thought they were very good. They made me realize the potential of loading and unloading and always being one step ahead of your audience.
