Hey guys.

I searched all around the internet for information on Narragansett Machine Co. Clubs, but found nothing but an ebay link. Click Here

A few years ago my dad was just driving around and came across a pile of stuff that was on the side of the curb being put out for garbage. He noticed some nice stuff so took a look around. He took a few things and with that, he brought back 3 of these juggling clubs for me. I already knew how to juggle 3 balls at the time, so he thought maybe I'd be interested in clubs.

That was about 3 or 4 years ago, and I finally stumbled across them again a week or so ago, and with the help of Ian Kendall, I learned how to juggle the 3 clubs. (I'm still practicing it, however)

Anyways, I was just wondering if you guys know anything about these clubs. Mine have the same type of sticker on them as the ones in the above link (and attached picture, just in case that link doesn't work in the future), my clubs are also wooden, but mine are brown.

Also, I think these clubs are kind of harder to learn club juggling with because of the way they are designed. I'll take a few pictures later today and post them up. These clubs look different in shape than the other clubs I see online. I'm going to pick up some Dube clubs or something similar pretty soon so I can get better at juggling.

Thanks guys, and any help is great.
-Vinnie

Hi Vinnie
They are not juggling clubs, they are swinging clubs. Club swinging was an gymnastic Olympic event up untill the 1930's. I am a student of the ancient Indian art of club swinging, and if you try to juggle solid maple swinging clubs you could hurt yourself.

Some of them are worth some money though. I know several folks who collect them. And Al - you never cease to amaze me ... you're a club swinger, huh? I have they original book on swinging written way back when. Tried to learn from it but only got a few basics. Cool stuff ...

Haha, that explains why these darn things are so hard to juggle! LOL!!

But I am glad I got them, as I learned how to juggle clubs. I will order some professional Dube clubs pretty soon so I can get down to business! =]

Do you guys know of anyone that would like to buy these?

Thanks,
-Vinnie

Put them up on ebay, and good luck.

Mike
I got started at a club swinging workshop with Allan Jacobs from the Gizmo guys at the 1987 Akron Ohio IJA convention. Allan is the master of club swinging, I just swing torches at BBQ's.

Thanks Al...

I'll put them up for sale here and on ebay. Anyone know how much these go for new, though?

Vinnie there's probibly a couple up on ebay right now. Ask the same price as the others there ask. Do an ebay search for wooden clubs, and see what comes up.

I'm afraid that is it. The hollow wooden ones made by Harry Lynde are worth several hundred dollars each.
