I decided to do some coin manipulations while going down the water slide at a larger public lake. I used casino style poker chips wich are very close to a silver dollar(I didn't want to risk loosing my walking liberty dollars). While going down the long slide I can do three fingertip one coin jumps, and down the shorter slide just one jump before landing in the lake.the same was true with jumping off feet first from the 15 foot diving board I can only do one coin jump .I might get brave & do a dive while doing this I had traveled over 10 times down the slides & never dropped one chip!!! my buddy was amazed because I usually drop them on land a lot.how ever I did drop one chip in the shallows near the peir earlier. so I dove down to find it.
new things to explore where to do some magic.have anny of you performed at a swimming pool or at a lake?

Look at the reality shows like "Monster garage","Junkyard wars" they come up with really strange things there.I alwase like to put a twist on a comon thing. Back in 1978 I drew up three wheeler motor cycles using heavy duty truck axles ,stake beds, and dumping beds. Wanting to combine cycle sports with heavy duty trucks.
Just as I like to combine magic with swimming for a new place to perform magic. Love to hear other storys about the unusual.shure like to have a partner that likes the same thing ,being a extrovert is a must.

I tried doing magic on the water slide, but couldn't get an audience.

Well I've heard of practicing in unusual circumstances in order to get better mastery, like keeping your coins palmed while making dinner or the like, but a waterslide, that is a new one. Well if it works, don't knock it. Now you got me curious, wonder where the nearest water park is?

For me, the best trick I can do on a water slide is keeping my shorts from falling off...
I do want to try doing street magic at a beach sometime. The great thing about it is that if you're wearing only shorts, then people don't suspect you of hiding anything up your sleeve... I have a friend who has his own internet production business, and if he's ever able to find a good sponsor, I'd like to do a show that involves a series of illusions done on the beach and culminate it all by making a sailboat appear on a platform while I'm surrounded by spectators. |

I do carry some plastic poker chips & a rope when I go to the beach ,sometimes I get some styrofoam cups & make some balls for a basic cups & balls, and show some kids there.Maybe I can help PirateJohn with a beach Illusions ,the sail boat illusion sounds like something David Copperfield would do .maybe you can do that illusion before he will.Don`t know how many on here are swimmwes & do tricks at the beach.

In that book, the appearance is of a powerboat, but with only slight modification it could be a sailboat instead. And, frankly, I think making a sailboat appear is prettier than a powerboat, especially with a multi-colored sail. |

That's nice. The brightly cololored sails would look great ,would the boat appear suddenly or from the water?

A curtain is raised around the platform, and when it is dropped, the boat is sitting on the platform. I wouldn't want to do it in the water because I want people to be standing all around the platform. That might be trickier to do in the water. |

The sailboat appearance within a ring of specs would a terrific illusion, especially because of ring o' specs! BTW I LOVE sailing!! |
