It doesn't come with rope. Although you may use whatever rope that you wish. On the DVD Richard recommends Camirand's Elite Rope. http://www.camirandmagic.com/ac_022w.html

I use the Camirand rope, and I like the size and the weight of it. It's very good rope.

But I think it comes down to a matter of personal preference.
Defendant:I plead insanity.
Judge:Insanity?
Defendant:Yep. I'm just crazy about that stuff!

I use the Empire Cut and Restored Rope. The rope is excellent quality - really too good for performing the cut and restored with. I was able to make 2 sets of ropes with this 25' hank, that costs me $5.

He does not talk about rope on the extended dvd. What size of elite rope do you guys recommend. Standard (parlour) or stage size. Does it make a difference on the handling?

I don't know the answer, but I can't wait to find out the answer myself. I don't think that size matters. (No snickering!)

I use the bigger rope for non-scissor routines. It's great. I sell it on my website. for scissor routines I use the very soft rope that is on my homepage.
Al has some of that rope. You can ask him if he likes it. I know he also uses Daryl's rope and don't know how he compares the 2. I love the elite rope for prof. nightmare and fiber optics stuff. It's too expensive to cut.

I have always used the Daryl rope, and after buying the elite rope from Frank I find them to be practically the same, but the price of the elite rope makes it a much better bang for the buck. One of my favorite rope tricks is "the vishnu rope mystery" which is a very, very cool C&R, but it is best done with good rope, now that I have the thick elite rope from Frank I do the vishnu for all of my adult shows.

Hey Al,
How was that twisted rope you ordered?

It is great rope but very stiff. I'm going to wash it to see if that will make it soft enough. If that doesn't work I will send it to the cleaners.

Al, just to clarify, you bought "soft rope". The elite rope is the one that looks a lot like the soft rope but is much more expensive. The elite rope is what I use for no scissor routines such as fiber optics and Prof. nightmare. I will bet that the Fiber Optics DVD case photo is the Camirand Elite Stage Rope.
