Ace! BIG RESPECT, my friend. You are very popular. LOL. Everyone wants to be like you.

Just emailed him, giving him fair warning to remove the picture before Ace Starry gets to him.

What is it with performers and stealing EA's stuff lately?

I noticed the guy is from Fort Smith, AR (I know people there). I'm just wondering if he's so "famous", why did I not ever get introduced/know about him while I was in Little Rock? I would have given my right arm to be able to talk about escapes with someone there!

I did email the guy, and he said that he would get his people to remove the picture and have a good talk to his designer. (Meaning, I suppose, that they were probably the ones to put up the picture.)

Ace! I would be honoured to have people steal my picture like they do with yours. Keep it up.

I agree, not a good site to have paid for..... I think mine at http://www.dyslexia-tuition.co.uk is nearly as good, and I did it myself..... He should have got a refund.

Calling Dave Straightjacket....

You might like the line: Michal currently holds the "Unofficial" World Record for escaping a straitjacket while underwater....Official Recorded Time - 29.1 seconds. Guiness no longer recognizes these types of stunts due to their cautionary level.

That sure made me smile! Smile
Oh, by the way, I hold ALL of the Unofficial World Records for escapes at 0.1 seconds. But heck, as no one was there to confirm it, I guess I will go back to sleep.

Oh my god, what a bunch of nonsense!

I can't even be bothered emailing him. What's the point? He is clearly deluded, and a moron. Don't worry, it takes more than that to get work anyway.

This is quite interesting! Mind if I join the hen-peck party? Thought I'd add my two-cents worth here since Michal Angelo is, in fact, my brother.

Margarette,

I'm not sure what eludes you to believe that Michal is "famous". After reviewing his site, I see nothing that states that he is "famous". Michal was is Little Rock several times. He performed twice at the Air Force Base, once for a corporate function for Alltel and once at the Riverfront. From your post count, it seems you spend an awful lot of time here...Perhaps he should've advertised his performances on this forum, then maybe you would've heard of him. It's quite cute the way you think that he would have actually talked to you about escapes. HaHaHa. Hardly.

This is true. He sent an email to his manager who then sent an email to the person who created and put up the "photo". It seems that the designer, instead of using some creativity and constructing an art depiction of a person performing a USD SJ escape, he took the easy way out and stole one. That person is no longer employed by Michal, as he was terminated over this incident.

Every attempt was made to get Guiness attend this event. They were not able to attend this date, and the event could not be rescheduled. A complete, unedited video of the event was sent to Guiness, with close-up shots of the jacket used, and all specifications for this stunt required by Guiness, including witness statements by several community leaders and spectators. Guiness replied with the statement that they were no longer recognizing this feat.

Not to worry, David. He probably wouldn't bother to read your email, anyway. And by the way, Michal has no problems getting work. I believe he did close to 175 shows last year, and is getting close to that number this year.

Regardless, unlike the other fellow named above, Franky Houdini, Michal is not and has not tried to portray himself as someone he's not. I find it sad that you all judge a person by something like the publishing of a picture (I admit that it should not have been done, and was immediately corrected when brought to attention), and then take pleasure in bashing the person's website....like that even matters.

---------------------------

Just to let you know, I was replying to the original thread and website, not the one about your brother which I hadn't even seen until now! But since you decided to jump to that conclusion and reply so rudely lets spread the net a lttle wider and aim everything I said at him too.

First point, Guinness hardly ever witness records themselves. And they certainly DO still recognize that record. So he is lying, they are lying, or you are lying. Someone is lying. Bet I can guess who. He has no record for the straitjacket, none at all, no matter how many times he or you says he does.

Wouldn't he read my email? Well poor me, I am heartbroken, really I am. That record wouldn't even exist for him and you to lie about if it wasn't for me Smile So I had some effect at least.

Wow, 175 shows this year, no wonder he doesn't have the time to get a picture of himself. That explains why he resorts to stealing other peoples photos and pretending they are of him. You'd think SOMEONE would have had a camera at one of those shows though?

You sir (and I mean that in the most patronizing way possible) are talking utter rubbish. But thanks for dropping by all the same. I won't be replying here again. I have much better things to do.

Have fun & goodbye

Whatever, dude. Whatever. As I said earlier...Michal had nothing to do with the picture theft, and using a picture of himself at that time would've been impossible due to the fact that that the USD SJ had not been performed by Michal yet. Which is why an artist's rendition was intended on being used. Instead, one was stolen. Starry, I don't know if you were contacted by anyone from Michal's camp or not. However, On behalf of Michal, I apologize for the infringement of your picture. Yes, it was a mistake made, and it was corrected as soon as it was brought to our attention.

I thought Michal Angelo was a painter!! So I understand backing up family but surely brothers should have the same surname.
Once more we are experiencing the B*** S*** Baffles Brains syndrome which has been displayed on this board on and off for years,,,so lets treat it for what it`s worth (Nothing) and move on to reality,,, When a performer does 175 shows per year (In this instance escapes) Then it should not be very hard to trace evidence of the fact.

There is none.

Case rested and tested.

LOL. Painter? That would be Michelangelo. Michal is my brother. We have different surnames because he changed his name. 98% of his performances are illusions. He is NOT an escape artist...but an illusionist who does an escape occasionally. I said he did almost 175 shows last year. I didn't say or elude that they were all escapes. Michal actually does only one or two escapes a year. As for David's supossed record for the Underwater Straitjacket Escape, I found no recoerd of his performing this. At the time Michal performed this (August 5, 2006), Ben Bradshaw of Australia held the record at 39 seconds (I could be wrong about the EXACT time, though), it was documented that Michal DID beat Ben's time. I'm not hear to argue about that...It's no major accomplishment to own a record anymore. They're all the time being broken. I'm simply here to to defend my younger brother from the a$sholes here.

OK,,,as this is a thread for escapology I presumed he was an escapologist. One or two escapes per year verifies he is far from a being a pro ea.

So the 175 shows could consist of close up, cabaret, magic, kids, illusion, etc etc,,,,,a real all rounder maybe!!

So to achieve as an all rounder puts him in no position at all to question a specialist of a subject.

I think maybe your motives of defence are understandable, but please view the claims comments etc made by your brother both on his site and through you here,,,try to look on as a pro ea would, then maybe you will see why your getting a bit of flack !!!

If I were you, I would butt out now and help your brother develope his skills without the BS,,, so when this is achieved he will be able to take time off from his busy schedual and stand on his own two feet as a man and post here.

Good luck Ken.

I think you're misunderstanding something here. I was NOT the one who brought up his name here. Someone else did. I NEVER said, nor did anyone else that he was a full-time "professional" EA. You are correct in your post saying you "presumed". And there's nothing wrong with that. It seems that the reason for the flack here started because of a picture that wrongly appeared on his site. It was admitted (by my brother, and myself here) that it WAS wrong, and the person that was responsible for this ended up losing his job over it. Whatever BS you think there is..all that aside, Michal was not directly responsible for the picture, and it WAS corrected the very day it was brought to attention. Measures were also taken to ensure that this sort of thing never happens again. To my knowledge, he never questioned anyone on the subject here. So that statement from you is irrelevant. His skill is not in question, and probably has better things to do than to post here. I can't speak for him in this matter, as if he chooses to post in forums, that's his business. However, I don't think "being a man" reflects him posting here. I posted in this thread because statements were being made without knowing the facts. Regardless, Michal doesn't claim to be a professional escape artist and prefers NOT to be labeled as one, and I'm almost positive that HIS shows hasn't hurt or taken away any of YOURS. I wish you the best in your escape endeavors. Good luck to YOU. ;-)

Once again you are on the defensive, this proves a great deal of the flack must have been valid.

Checking back with the Photo mix up,,, cmon,,,,you telling me that this was a mistake, the only mistake being getting caught. I don't give a sausage to the excuses,,,,no entertainer,,,I repeat no entertainer into self promotion especialy through the internet medium would agree to any publication without self vetting first. I have Agents, Management,Promo Staff and a web designer and not one of these people would take it upon themselves to act without clearance,,,,I am paying their wages,,,I pay for their services which must meet with my demands before publication.

Regarding other statements I fear although your brother is far too busy!! To post here,,,,I would if I were him be some what worried about any comments made about me and especialy useing my brother as a mouth piece,,,,as this is my and presumably his liveing!! I would be very quick to show myself and put things right,,,odd he hasn`t.

Too busy,,,poppycock,,,I have bookings through to 2009 I will be in Cabaret at 12 midnight tonight, I have time !!! Rubbish.

I repeat, do yourself and your brother a favour,,,smooth it over and move on cos BS has no chance up against me ok.Been around too long and still this is my passion.Learn from this and walk the walk.

We all make mistakes in life,,,it`s not learning from them that Pi**** me off.
