Three other guys and myself got together. (They're all members here at the Café, but no names...)
So we just start doing stuff and sessioning. Before long, several of the wait staff happen by and start watching. Before long...several other of the staff happen by. Before long, several of us are asked to table hop. Before long, the manager comes by and offers us one night a week, to do two hours of walkaround. We'll be splitting it up amongst the four of us. Not a great amount of money, but a nice opportunity that came about because four guys were having fun.

...same thing has happened with myself and two friends. Thanks to a regular evening of sharing ideas and practicing routines for each other at a back corner of the restaurant,we are now performing there on a regular basis. Good times!

Indeed...so Monday night, it's my turn at bat, and I learned a very cool lesson:
Despite all the intense and semi-complicated effects I do, the one that got the biggest reaction was, yes, Card to Forehead. I had the spec pick a card...shuffle, shuffle...and I pulled a $10 bill from my wallet. Asked them to name their card as I did. They told me honestly; I said if they could find the card by the time I counted to 10, I'd give them the $10. Folks, you could have introduced a herd of elephants into the room and they would not have noticed; that's how intent they were on finding their card. When I counted to 16 (yes, 16), I tapped one of the specs on her shoulder and pointed to my forehead. She shrieked. As did the others...no ugly jokes, please. My point being that let's not forget that when we perform, let's keep the audience in mind. Their entertainment should, I'd suggest, be paramount.

Similar happened to me in Cancun. The hotel asked me to stay on. These all-inclusive hotels need to keep their guests entertained. Too bad I had to get back.
