I think these cups are next on my purchase list. I hear they are a great deal. I would like to know what size ball works best as well.

The cups have a skirt height of about 1 1/8", so obviously, you could nest the cups with a 1 1/8" ball or smaller between the cups. However, when you start putting more than one ball on top of the cups, the picture changes. This is a traditional style cup. The saddle is not wide enough to allowy you to put three 1 1/8" balls on top of a cup and nest them. If they had rounded tops, like a Paul Fox cup, this would be a different story. If you have three balls that are no more than 15/16" diameter on top of a cup, you can put another cup on top of it. The Morrissey 3/4" balls would probably work for this. Their size is given as the core size of the ball, actual size is a little bit larger.

Okay. Here's a rule of thumb. If a cup has a skirt, and the top of the cup is larger in diameter than the height of the skirt, you can nest the cups with a ball of the same diameter as the height of the skirt, less a very small amount for the way the lip of the cup sits on the shoulder of the cup.
It took me a while to figure this out, but it's really obvious. The only exceptions are slanted skirt cups. The Phoenix cups, for example, don't take a very large ball.

I grabbed one at random off the top of the stack. It weighs 5.4 oz. They aren't heavyweights, but they are heavy enough to work with.
They are what I would consider to be a bargain in the world of cups and balls. The current price is $93.00 for a set. That's hard to beat in a copper cup.

Harries in sweden sell them - I think the have the exclusive.
God's grace rocks! It makes a good cups and balls routine look pretty boring in comparison.

That's right. It's Harries in Sweden. I think they are spun by Tim Star.
