Anybody have this effect? I'm curious if the quality is good, good enough to be used as a close up and stand up to audience scrutiny? Can the bottle be examined afterwards?

Absolutely. Of course, you'd probably want to retrieve it to use it again. It's a well-made prop, as described by David Roth on one of his videos, mainly for use with the classic coin-in-bottle routine with a kicker finish. Of course, you could make your own, but it would be a lot of work with nasty chemicals.

I'm still waiting for the day I can ring it in casually at a house party (ah, but then how to retrieve it subtly?). So, I haven't used it in a performance situation yet, therefore take my review with a grain of salt.

it is great, but the problem is, that you have to cover the bottle.
