If you saw Gazzo do the egg bag, his tossed out deck and his mental card selection stuff, all the rest are light years behind him. I've seen him kill crowds of 200 or more to standing ovations (at the WMS in Vegas his late night extravaganza was a master at work).

Watching Michael's cups and a few other of his clips is making him one of my favorites. He has a flawless handling. Good heads up on the Jennings video Pete.

I got to see Michael do this live at a lecture. The cups he was using were made by Tim Star for John Mendoza.

Have you guys seen John Schyrock? (spelling?) I've searched youtube and come up empty. He has 2 routines on a DVD, one with mini cups and the other standard which is done to music. Some nice work including a BEAUTIFUL vanish of all the balls at the end. Nice thoughts on final loads too. Has anyone seen it?

Pepka - You're thinking of the John Shryock DVD 'Live at Caesars'.
I have six locks on my door all in a row. When I go out, I only lock every other one. I figure no matter how long somebody stands there picking the locks, they are always locking three. Elayne Boosler

Yep, that's it. Has anyone seen it? Is John a member of the Café'?

No, but I saw him work live at Caesars, and the routine was very nice.

Magic Café friends!

Michael Vincent's handling for the cups and balls is simply beautiful, simply elegant. He is truly one of my favorites!

His routine is a testament to what can be accomplished if anyone wishes to venture out from a "regular" set of cups!

I'm curious, though.....

Is Mr. Vincent using a commercially available gimmicked wand for his "floating" wand gag sequence at the beginning of the routine (magnetic, thread, or otherwise)?

I do love that wand interplay with the spectators, and I would love to incorporate it into my own cups routine, however, only if it is commercially available!

Thanks for any insights,

Pal Gene

It's an old gimmick used with the wand. I forget the name of it but it' a catcut loop on a pull.

Thanks for the link Pete. This is certainly one of the best original routines I have seen in a while. Again, there is some great magic to be discovered in the east.

Nick's routine is incredible from a spectator's eyes. Especially if you see the entire thing and how it relates to his whole act.

I've not seen one that I'd rather watch over and over for pure entertainment value.

Just finished seeing Nick Perform over a week at the International Buskerfest here to
massive crowds where he performed-the dvd clip earlier mentioned wasnt even in the same
league after seeing his live shows - even saw $50 notes going into the overflowing Hat!!-that doesn't happen here !!

Pure comedy & entertainment to the lay audiences watching

Cheers

I think Nick's routine is awesome. Here is a link to another performance, this one outside. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8vR6hwM37Ds

I sensed the first clip was a magician's convention.

Nick's callback of the tennis ball and the vanish are well written and executed.

I have seen Gazzo perform live several times. Nick's routine stands on its own.
Magic is an art. I am merely a tour guide.
