Robert,
I really like the idea of having a few different voice-over warnings like Michael's example. Generic is good. Maybe the same words, but in varying time lengths. Maybe a few of us can write a few different ideas and PM them to you... I agree with another poster, that a count down is almost telling the audience when the escape will actually happen. So I'm not sure I would use it, unless I'm trying to best someone else's record. I like the idea of having a music loop that can be mixed to create our own track to fit our particular performance. It would be nice to have a few choices of different Intro music; some hard driving alternative music, some slow vamping, eerie strings in minor chords, etc. Nothing "pop music" sounding. The middle would have music building up to some hard driving sounds to keep the energy up and peak the escape. Finally, some ending piece that wraps up the theme as you move to take your bows, be lowered from the crane, etc. I think you are off to a tough task of trying to create something that will please most EAs. I wish you the best on this project and look forward to hearing the results. Thank you for all your hard efforts! Joe |

Gentlemen,
Thank you so much for sharing your ideas and suggestions. I appreciate it. I am working on possibly adding a few extra tracks for escape artists. One good idea which was mentioned was to have a 1-2 minute track telling about how dangerous escape illusions are and how you should not try it at home type of thing. If any one of you would like to write something up for me, it would be great! I'll even give you a free Volume 2 CD when they become available. Until then, what types of disclaimers should I include? General-
"Ladies and Gentlemen, what you are about to see is very (very) dangerous. It is being attempted only after years of extensive training and study of the body's limitations. Do not try anything like this yourself, anytime or anywhere. You have been warned." Personalized- "Ladies and Gentlemen, what you are about to see is very (very) dangerous. (Artist's name) is attempting this only after years of extensive training and study of the body's limitations. Do not try anything like this yourself, anytime or anywhere. You have been warned." Or if you're doing a countdown... "Ladies and Gentlemen, what you are about to see is very (very) dangerous. (Artist's name) is attempting this only after years of extensive training and study of the body's limitations. Do not try anything like this yourself, anytime or anywhere. Hold your breath and your seats....start the clock!" Just something off the top of my head. I've never really used a warning, other than a general "this is dangerous, don't try this at home" for fire eating, so it may be a little over the top. Ooh, I just thought of something a bit different that I may like better.... "Ladies and Gentlemen, what you are about to see is very (very) dangerous. Attempting to duplicate it in any part may result in injury, or even death. Please, do not try this anytime or anywhere." or "Ladies and Gentlemen, what you are about to see is very (very) dangerous. Trying to duplicate it in any part may result in injury, or even death. (Artist's name) is attempting this only after years of extensive training and study of the body's limitations. Please, do not try this anytime or anywhere."
