Hello,
I came across a book called Modern Chemical Magic by John Lippy Jr. seems fairly old. It tells you what chemicals are in flash paper, fanning powder, roughing spray etc. Some very cool chemical stunts and fire effects. Anyone else have this book? I thinks it's great, pick it up if you can find it! |

DON'T try to manufacture your own flash powder, flash paper, etc.
It's VERY hazardous. See the policy regarding this at the very top of "Up In Smoke".

Yes it is an old book and the most popular reprinted chemical magic text in magic.
Most of the chemicals listed are now black listed from the SAFE TO USE catagory. Many of the formulas will not give the desired effect and read better on paper. [effects. Anyone else have this book?] |
