Not sure if this is the right section, but figured if anybody knew about this it would be you wierdos,
I'm looking for a set of knives with blades that retract into the handle's. They must look and feel real as the spec will be handling them. Anyone have a source for these, at present all I can find are the plastic versions. Thanks in advance for any help.
You might say reality is the result of complex negotiations between the observer and the observed. But that is simply a point of view.
Many Thanks Garrad |

You might be looking for something that is at times illegal in different locations, known as a "switchblade". These are generally spring loaded to "present the blade" at the push of a button. It might take a bit of hacking and reversing of things to gt it to do what you want, but I might suggest these as a starting point.

Kay, I think he is looking for something more dagger-like. I don't know, but you might look for a theater or movie prop supplier.

You can try a search for retractable blade stage knife. Ones of the quality that you are describing do exist, but are generally custom made and are very hard to find. You can rent them from theatrical prop houses, but rarely do they come up for sale.
I am not sure what you have in mind for them, but do keep in mind that these knives are dangerous. The blades have been known to catch on the handles and not fully retract. Make sure that you take appropriate precautions if you decide to use these, as injuries are actually fairly common. |
