I've had an inquiry about my post about some news...

in a way.


I guess since it was almost 2 years since I last posted
here until last month I failed to mentioned one thing here.

For some of you it probably is news that I got married
7 months ago (on 9/20).

Although its sorta older news its news to many.

I had some of my magic family there for dad.

Marshall and Mary Brodien, Sandy Marshall and Jim Sommers.
Plus family and friends.

It was a beautiful day (until everyone left and it rained).
It was outdoors and I walked down an aisle of trees with family
on each side to my friends playing my song "The Commitment Song"
(or the Politically Correct Wedding Song).

We had a BBQ and just enjoyed everyone to mingle and relax.

I'm working on a photo video with the music. Its taken that long?
Well, I've had to move my studio since the fall...I'm just
getting it together for the nice season.

Will post the video link when done.

Anyone wishing to send belated wedding blisses of gifts may
do so...

he really is enjoying the fact that everyone in the community
is beginning to know who he is...

I was thinking of copying what irked me a couple of weeks back
and started me back on the writing rampage again here...

would any of you like to read what upset-ed me soo?

Today was a fun day.
Was invited to a house party for Melissa Bean.
And she was throughly excited to meet us.

She was the reason my father received his medals
so quickly. It took 60 years but it took only 3
weeks within the time frame for him to receive.

When most WWII veterans pass away before they
even receive their medals...

Thanks to Melissa she helps many vets get their
due.

I forgot to mention that last week I received Jim Steinmeyer's
book "Technique & Understanding" in the mail.

I was very surprised to find my name joined with a couple of
others in the thank you section at the end of his foreward.

I look forward in reading his book, as I also look forward
to the Thurston book too.

Jim has been extremely supportive on my book project and reading
his books have been extremely help and inspriring for mine.

He is very respectful to his friends and mentors.

Many can learn from him.

More of my thoughts on the book when I have finished it.
(which may take some time due to the fact I am a slow
reader but a busy busy person).

I can't help but laugh.
Its been too busy of a last couple of days.

Micro wind turbine up and replace vanity/sink
and installed a dual-flush toilet.

what's the on the list tomorrow?
a drive kinda far but not far far... maybe.

Honestly Alan, what irked me has now amuse me.
I was in a moment and its now passed.

Right now the Louie household is riding high with
the news from the Left Coast. All I know is my
father is so very thrilled that all that was
a annoyance has been completely diminished with
happiness.

I will be making a formal announcement soon with
photos and I am very sure that everyone who has
posted here and others will join in the joy.

Magic is all about life itself.

Indeed it is!

An artist weaves a spell even for those who have grown out of believing in magic. The power of the art is something that works when we are eighteen or eighty or eight, just as well. The art can be is instructive or about life itself ; people, animals, flowers, trees and everything else that nature and the inventive man has to offer…cites, boats, fireworks…anything you can of. It is the stuff of inspiration. Especially your dad and my mom. All art not just the art of conjurers. When we learn to listen with our hearts we have the intelligence of universe at our disposal and the gift of enchantment. And if we haven’t got it we can always steal it.

That's a very insightful from a magician's point of view.

I know that from a musician's point of view that inspiration
is all around us...

The hub on my wind turbine snapped.
Not very happy when we have plenty of wind tonight.

Mike from Minnesota sent me a link to a you tube
video of a couple of young kids on a spanish
speaking TV show.

The kid only did one effect but closed with
a miniature zig zag using his assistant.

Mike thought it would bring back memories because...

Well My dad made the first miniature zig zag when I was
four. We sold it later to a magician in Kentucky. In my
hunt to find old illusions, I contacted him to find out
what happened it to it for my book project and unfortunately
he doesn't remember who he sold it ttoo.

Being so, Jeff Hobson told me that he tells many people
about the miniature illusions my father built for me.

It took 30 years before another miniature zig zag to
be performed.

In total my father built 3 1/2 zig zags until I was 20.
And he never called it the zig zag he called the
"Girl In Pink"...

On Sunday we decided to buy a 400 watt power wind turbine... again.
We had bought it back in March but got flustered on how to put
it together and hook it up so we returned it.

After our 125w micro turbine's hub cracked (we are in midst of repairing it)...
we figured we give the 400 watt one a try again.

We had some pretty windy days but it was a no gooooo.

We realize that we can't use a wind turbine in low wind areas.
We need a low wind area turbine. Like the 125w micro...

So we're looking into more of that. Now that we have a hybrid
grid tie system its easy to hook up push power into the grid.

AM I CONFUSING YOU?
Well, I hope not.

After a couple of days we decided to take it down.
Granted we tried 20ft, 15ft and 10ft and nothing.

We returned it in bought 3 sets of 60w solar panels.

On one side of the roof we have 180w of power and the other
side 75wa (we bought 15w seperately) charging batteries.

On a nice really sunny day we are producing 180w an hour of power.
So if you take 180 and multiply that by 8 hours of sun we are
producing 1.44 Kw. That is brought into the house through our
grid tie...


Not bad huh?
