Some time ago, I asked Doug Higley to make me a 'Hand of Glory' to my own specification. He did and it arrived earlier this week. I am delighted with it! I am working on a presentation that will involve a 'Bleeding Candle'. I'll tell you all about it when it's done!

"What's your drug?" she asked. "Hope" he said, "The most addicting one of all."

Hello Leslie,
Is this something you are planning to perform at Edinburgh this year? (with fingers tightly crossed!) Thanks and best regards, Stephen. |

It is unlikely that I'll have it ready for Edinburgh - but who knows!
I am constructing a Gothic Horror storytelling production (Terrifying Tales!) for presentation in studio theatres, colleges etc. and am currently promoting the package for availability in 2008. Those of you in the U.K. who are old enough, might remember a weekly radio series in the late 1940's & early 50's called "Appointment With Fear!" It featured actor Valentine Dyall as 'The Man in Black' who would present a half-hour dramatised tale of the macabre. I am planning something along similar lines but as solo storyteller, William Warlock. There won't be too much magic(k) as such, but I do intend to create a few sensual 'effects' to help sustain the suspense. I will keep you informed! Leslie

Dave Birtwell here. I hope you have a preview for us at the ICBM Gathering (you will be attending again, won't you?). For anyone who gets a chance to see this man ... SEE HIM. He's top shelf when it comes to storytelling magic. Heck, just the stories alone are good enough. Also, do yourself a favor and purchase a copy of Magictales. You won't be sorry!!! |

Leslie...soon as I get caught up (ha!) and a bit ahead, I'll be sending you the Demented All Seeing Eye. Since I designed it and released it for Story tellers...you should certainly have one since I hear you are one of the best in the game. Maybe you'll come up with something new. I'll tell the Wife it's research. haha.
Glad you liked the hand and hope it lives up to standards of performance. Doug

David,
Thank you for your kind words and yes, I am planning to be at the ICBM. I look forward to seeing you too. I can't promise to preview the Hand of Glory routine, but I WILL bring the hand for you all to see! and Doug, Thank you also for your generous gesture. I have looked (hasn't everyone?!) at the 'eyes' in your ads. and considered how they might be used. In anticipation of its arrival, I will set 'the little grey cells' to work. Thanks again, both of you. Leslie.

But in order to fully integrate the eye into the routine, I really need to know exactly what it does! As soon as I can find a suitable candle, I will post a photograph of 'The Hand of Glory' for other to see. Cheers! Leslie.

Hand of Glory sounds like something you would find in a Minneapolis airport restroom. What is it?

I'll get a photograph up as soon as I can.
The 'bleeding' of the candle isn't a problem, I just need to get the right size, but thanks very much for your interest. Leslie
