Where when what??

Not many is there...

Most comedy magicians are pretty crazy...

Not many comedy magicians rely on improv, observations or dry humour...

Im not talking about original comedy, but guys that break the mold with magic and humour.

Infact I can't really think of one.

Steve Beam, Guy Hollingworth and Derren Brown come to mind., but these guys would never bill themselfs as comedy magicians.

Anyone else?

I hear talk and read about some nearly normal guy.

"He loves and was raised on improv, prior to making a left turn into magic".

Latest thought after watching CNN....(great source)

Hmmm...I disagree. He's been doing the same thing for 12 years.

Still brilliant. But never seen him improvise one bit!

Dry, funny comedy magic acts.

I can think of two names that must be close to the top of the list.

Graham P Jolly and Ian Keable.

They have very different performing styles yet both have fantastically dry humour with brilliantly original presentations and amazingly well crafted razor sharp scripts/patter.

Neal.

Hmmmm...I don't agree. Every video I've been ablet o find of his, he is very "in the face" about his comedy. Even down to the over-the-top laugh that he gives to the audience after delivering a joke. Definitely not what I'd call dead pan...quite the opposite. Steve Martin did a bit of comedy magic, and what I've been able to find was pretty dead pan.

From what I remember seeing a Carl Ballentine routine in my childhood, I would think he would fall under the dead-pan classification.
