Hoping to pick your minds here for a sec.

I just purchased the MAK Torch Thru Arm off of EBAY. It came to me with no instructions but is in very good condition. I figured it worked like the basic candle thru arm did and I was correct.

However...I cannot get the torch to lite up. I thought you just soaked it in Lighter Fluid and that would do the trick...but I guess not.

Anyone out there own this that could help.

Thanks in Advance...

I may have had a similar effect, is there area where you put the lighter fluid in covered by brass with holes in it? If so, it needs to build up gases around it from the lighter fluid and may not light right away.

What I have found works the best is to completely soak the torch in lighter fluid for 24 hours before performance. Before you're ready to perform, dip the torch in the fluid again for a moment. Now you have the cotton inside completely soaked and really in the fibers you'll get a good burn everytime.

Thanks...I'll try that. I just pulled it out of the box and soaked it up with lighter fluid thinking it would light up real quick. Guess I was wrong...

I did the same thing when I first tried to light my torch...

An odd thing about these is that if you will just light it and let it burn a while, it gets easier to light. (Maybe torches benefit from practice too!)

An old one actually works best.
