The quarters come out with a gentle shaking, and tipping the machine back a little bit.
Arthur Posted: Nov 21, 2007 12:54pm Mumblemore, I have solved the problem of the capsules getting stuck "enroute" I do not have to reach any more! I figured out a way to load the capsule in a passing moment, where you do not touch the machine! I spent all day trying different methods, Hah! I like this thing more each day! Arthur |

Greetings. This is for the purchasers of the “Ringo” - The Ring In Gumball Machine.
First, I would like to thank you for your purchase of “Ringo” - The Ring In Gumball Machine. We are very pleased to finally release it to the magic fraternity. We are working very hard to get your order out to you and are sorry for any delays. "Ringo" has been a much bigger hit then we imagined. We planned on selling 20 - 30 machines. We sold well over 100 machines. As of this writing we are behind 40 + machines and the orders keep coming in everyday. I realized, if it takes 4 - 5 hours to complete a Ringo machine, times 100 plus machines sold, that’s a whole lotta time for two guys to make happen!” To make matters worse, we had a few setbacks along the way - parts not arriving on schedule, a change in design in a piece of hardware, etc. I'm not trying to make excuses, as this is a part of business, I'm just asking to please be understanding and know that we didn't run off with your money! Also, If you have not received an email from us with shipping costs, please email me (john@sterlini.com). We sent out emails late October with shippings charges. There was some confusion about that email and the additional charge. When "Ringo" was posted, we were unsure of exact size and weight and could not apply correct shipping costs to your order. So, you’re receiving your machine a little later then we intended, but I hope you feel it was worth the wait. We truly care about our products and what we do and constantly look to improve what we manufacture. I am hoping that this purchase will be your first of many purchases from us. So, will that next prop you order arrive early? Probably not. Will it be a quality piece that you were glad you waited for? I think so. Thank you once again for your order. Best regards, John Sterlini President Sterlini Magic Mfg. Co. 208 E. State St. Colon, MI 49040 734.844.3800 734.844.3801 Fax |

I received my Ringo last week. It is really nice prop...especially for the cost.
As mentioned above, you get the Ringo gumball machine, one ring cloth gimmick, and one cloth to cover the Ringo machine to aid in cover for the load. The cloths supplied are really nice quality as well. For me, I can't see using the cloth supplied to vanish a ring. The cloth is too large to vanish such a small object...just my opinion. I will be loading the Ringo in full view with no cover...thats how smoothly it works. I am primarily a close up guy so this seemed like a piece of cake for me. This should some it up on how well this prop works: I did an impromptu version for my wife (the true test). The machine was set up behind us in the corner. I asked to borrow one of her rings. In my left hand I concealed the capsule with the lid...I vanished the ring with my right hand by just blowing on it (via Wilson palm). I called my wife over to follow me to the machine (while walking to the Ringo I put the ring in the capsule). I casually pushed the Ringo forward (loading the machine 2 ft in front of my wife)and handed her a quarter. She puts it in...turns the knob...out pops the capsule with her ring. She has HUGE glow on her face like...how the !&%#$. She said, how much did you pay for this? I tell her and she said " Its worth every penny". I'm not kidding. Keep in mind that she thinks I waste a little too much money on magic that I don't actually use. In my regular presentation, I'll be using Wolfs Ring Grinder to vanish the ring. I'm still waiting for the Ring Grinder to arrive. Here is a little tip for those that want to use it like a gumball machine you see in the store, and not put it on a table top. I purchased a stand here: http://www.gumballmachinefactory.com/Stands.html I am going to modify the stand to have wheels on the bottom so I can push it around on stage. Rich B. |

I also purchased a Ringo Gumball Machine. I was able to take advantage of the low introductory price. I ordered mine on a Saturday and had it by Friday! John is great to deal with and you get a quality product!
You receive a cloth to cover the gumball machine and a gimmicked cloth for the vanish of the ring. The instructions are very straight forward however, you will have to develop a loading method that will work for you. I would have liked to have had an instructional DVD with various loading options but for this LOW price, you are lucky to get both the cover cloth and ring vanish cloth. Now I will be working on a stand that breaks apart and has casters. Then the case will follow to keep everything together! Overall, I am very happy with my purchase and I am looking forward to many years of performing it! Jamie Salinas

Does anyone have the Sparking Ring Polisher? If so, can you post a review? It looks like fun, although I have the Ring Grinder and wonder if destroying it in the Polisher and then Grinder might be overkill . . .

I have the sparkling ring polisher. it is a great prop that really plays big and ellicits a shocked response from spectators, especially the ring owner. It has served me well for over a year now. It really shoots a huge set of sparks with no damage to the ring. You have to be careful about you're acting becuase if you play the dramatic too well they really think you tore up their ring. I think bringing out the ring grinder(ring repairer to them) right after gives a sense of comedy that let's them think.."whew...ok..this must be part of the act...i hope". It's all in how you perform it, only experience and your style and the feel of your audience will tell you what is right. The two work wonderfully for me but if I sense any uptightness in the crowd I will sometimes forego the polisher. It really can be a bit too much for the serious crowd. Sometimes just have to go with a feeling. The polisher is really a great visual addition though that adds some fireworks(literally) and shock/comedy to the effect.

Thanks John. I take there's no flash products involved (I don't use fire stuff - don't like the hassle of having to ask teachers/parents beforehand and the hazard of storing it at home, where I have small kids - but I would use friction-generated sparks if that's what it uses). The only "refills needed" item is the flints on the Sterlini Magic website?

What is the size of the plastic acorn shells in the Ringo Machine? are these the same that work with Wolf's Ring Grinder?
Thanks, Dan. |

Mumblemore..you got it, no flash products. Flints and dremel size drum sander cylinders. Mine came with a pretty nice supply of both.

Got mine today and Love it, I also have a CW machine. John makes very nice products as I also have his Twister Illusion he built. Don't let the price fool you John builds Quality products and cares about his name. If you are thinking about getting one you better do so now because the price can only go up.

Just Got my Ringo today. Great product and a joy to "play" with. Plan on using it as a call back during my entire show. John has been great to communicate with and I look forward to purchasing more Sterlini Magic products as they are released.

How will you use as callback jcmazzolado? Try to get the ring back out and fail on the first several capsules? That sounds like it has potential . . .

As for the callback idea...when the Collector's Workshop version first came out, Harry Anderson had Nick make one in which the spectator's ring comes out on the FIFTH bubble instead of the standard third one. Gives you more chances.

Used Ringo tonight at a casino show I had. It went over very well. I too use the machine throughout the show. The ring will come out whenever you want so I use two or three bubbles during the show for other spectators, then save the ring for last. I've just got to find a better way to vanish the ring. Have been using the Wolf Ring Grinder and it's ok but I'm not happy with it. Think I will switch back to the CW grinder. I like the power ring grinder Sterlini is now selling but it's a bit pricey.

Steve,
Greetings. One of the cool features of the Ringo Machine it that the ring can appear in any position up to (I believe) the 7th or 8th capsule. Personally, I think more then 2 or 3 capsules is torture. But hey, there's a time and a place. . . . . . |
